TENDER NOTICE
1. Background
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) aims to ensure safe and sustainable water and sanitation for everyone. One of its key targets is to provide clean and safe drinking water for all people. In India, many rural and peri-urban areas still face problems in accessing clean drinking water. Existing water sources are often far from homes, unreliable, or become unusable during the summer and flood seasons. Women, children, and elderly people spend a lot of time collecting water from distant locations. In some villages, people depend on unsafe water sources, which can lead to water-borne diseases.
In Chaaniya Block (Chandauli), rapid population growth, seasonal water shortages, and limited access to safe. Drinking water has increased the need for reliable community water supply systems.
2. Objectives and Location Profile
Objectives:
- Construct community-level water standposts for safe drinking water.
- Ensure easy and equal access to clean water for all villagers.
- Reduce the distance and time required to collect drinking water.
- Improve public health by providing a reliable source of safe water.
- Ensure proper drainage around standposts to avoid waterlogging and maintain hygiene.
Location Profile
In Chahaniya Block, the villages of Derwa kala, Nadesar and Bisupur face water supply challenges, especially during summer seasons. Existing Water sources are either insufficient or difficult to access. D, many handpumps and local water sources become contaminated, making it difficult for the community to get safe drinking water.
To solve this problem, it is proposed to construct community-level water standposts connected to a safe and reliable water supply system. The work will also include the construction of proper platforms and drainage arrangements around the standposts. This will provide continuous access to clean drinking water, improve hygiene, reduce the burden on villagers, and enhance the overall quality of life in the community. Please find the attached estimates for the construction of community-level water standposts.
