Nari Gunjan (Women’s Voice), founded in 1987 under the leadership of Padmashree awardee Sudha Varghese, is a non-profit organization based in Patna, Bihar. The organization has been working extensively with the Musahar community, focusing on women’s economic empowerment, education, and health. In collaboration with an international agency, Nari Gunjan is implementing a project to mainstream out-of-school children across 5 blocks named Punpun, Bihta, Phulwarisharif, Danapur, Marhaura covering. The Mobile Learning Resource Centre initiative is a unique intervention which is used to create mass scale awareness and reaching out to targeted groups and community. This programme aims to ensure girls are mainstreamed in government schools.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide outpatient consultations at the Community Health Clinic (CHC) in Punpun block, operating one day per week.
• Conduct medical consultations and diagnostic services during outreach visits via the Mobile Van in identified villages.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage common illnesses, chronic conditions, and maternal & child health cases.
• Ensure early detection of health issues through basic diagnostics (BP, blood sugar, pulse oximetry, weight, temperature).
• Prescribe and oversee distribution of essential medicines during clinic and outreach visits.
• Provide guidance on antenatal and postnatal care, safe delivery practices, immunization linkages, and nutrition counselling.
• Examine and support patients with mental health and psychiatric conditions, ensuring holistic care.
• Establish and strengthen referral linkages with government hospitals and schemes (Ayushman Bharat, JSY, RBSK, etc.).
• Maintain accurate patient records and support digital documentation for follow-up care and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Health Outreach & Documentation Officer, Nurse/Paramedic, and Community Mobilizers to ensure coordinated service delivery.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Percentage of referrals successfully linked to government health schemes.
• Improvement in maternal and child health indicators (antenatal visits, immunization coverage).
• Reduction in preventable complications through early diagnosis and timely treatment.
• Patient satisfaction and trust in healthcare services delivered at village level.
• Quality and completeness of medical documentation and reporting.

Required Qualifications

Primary Eligibility:
• MBBS degree from a recognized institution with valid registration under the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Bihar State Medical Council.

Additional Eligibility (AYUSH Provision):
• Holders of AYUSH degrees (BAMS – Ayurveda, BHMS – Homeopathy, BUMS – Unani) who have completed three years of service under the Bihar government are also eligible to apply, as per state authorization to prescribe certain medicines.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in primary healthcare, community health, or rural medical practice.
• Strong knowledge of maternal & child health, chronic disease management, and preventive healthcare.
• Familiarity with government health schemes and referral systems.
• Ability to work in resource-constrained rural settings with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Proficiency in Hindi and local dialects preferred; basic English communication desirable.

Employment Details
• Honorarium: 40,000 per month, with a six-day work week, plus approved travel allowance.
• Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance and project funding).
• Reporting To: Project Manager / Health Outreach & Documentation Officer.

Position Title : Nurse/Paramedic
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide diagnostic support including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing,
pulse oximetry, weight measurement, and temperature checks.
• Assist the Consultant Doctor during outpatient consultations at the Community
Health Clinic (CHC) and during outreach visits via the Mobile Van.
• Support maternal and child health services, including antenatal and postnatal care,
immunization linkages, and nutrition counselling.
• Administer prescribed medicines and ensure safe handling of medical supplies during
clinic and outreach operations.
• Maintain hygiene and infection-control practices during patient care and outreach
activities.
• Document patient records accurately and support digital data entry for monitoring
and follow-up.
• Provide first aid and emergency care during outreach visits.
• Collaborate with the Health Outreach & Documentation Officer, Community
Mobilizers, and other staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
• Participate in preventive health awareness sessions in villages and hamlets,
promoting hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition practices.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Number of patients assisted and diagnostic tests conducted monthly.
• Accuracy and completeness of patient documentation and medical records.
• Improvement in maternal and child health outcomes (antenatal visits, immunization
coverage).
• Compliance with infection-control and hygiene protocols.
• Patient satisfaction with nursing and paramedical support.
• Effective coordination with doctors, outreach staff, and community mobilizers.

Required Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing/Paramedical Sciences from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the Bihar Nursing Council or equivalent authority.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in primary healthcare, maternal & child health, or
community health services.
• Strong skills in basic diagnostics, maternal and child health support, and emergency
care.
• Familiarity with government health schemes and referral systems preferred.
• Ability to work in rural and resource-constrained settings with empathy and cultural
sensitivity.
• Proficiency in Hindi and local dialects preferred; basic English communication
desirable.

Job Title : Block Coordinator
Reporting To : Project Coordinator/Manager
Location : Assigned Block (Bihta, Patna)
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Block-Level Planning & Implementation
• Take charge of all project activities across ASK and KK centres within the block/area.
• Develop block-level activity plans, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and
timelines.
• Coordinate with Teachers, ICTs, CMs and PCs to ensure smooth execution of education,
nutrition, livelihood, and community empowerment initiatives.
2. Monitoring & Reporting
• Conduct regular visits to ASK and KK centres to monitor classroom quality, nutrition
activities, and community engagement.
• Collect and consolidate reports from Teachers, ICTs and Community Mobilizers at the block
level.
• Submit detailed block-level progress reports to the Project Coordinator/Manager, including
data on beneficiaries, entitlements, and impact indicators.
• Overall nutritional meal utilization data and report to PC/PM.
3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
• Organize block-wide mothers’ meetings, adolescent empowerment sessions, and awareness
workshops.
• Strengthen parent-child relationships through structured parenting modules and life skills
training.
• Support beneficiary identification and verification to ensure inclusion of underprivileged and
marginalized children, especially from the Mahadalit community.
• Build trust and collaboration between families, schools, and community stakeholders.
4. Staff & Team Coordination
• Supervise Teachers, ICTs, Community Mobilizers, and other staff working within the block.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure staff are aligned with
project objectives.
• Facilitate coordination between block-level staff and the Project Coordinator.
5. Government Schemes & Entitlements
• Ensure Mahadalits families within the block are informed about and connected to Bihar
government schemes (education, nutrition, health, livelihood, social security).
• Support families in completing documentation and accessing entitlements.
• Maintain block-level records of beneficiaries accessing schemes and report progress to PC.
6. Livelihood, Cleanliness & Community Empowerment
• Coordinate livelihood initiatives (skill-building, vocational training, micro-enterprise support)
across the block.
• Organize cleanliness and sanitation drives to promote health and hygiene.
• Engage adolescents (boys and girls) through life skills, leadership, and empowerment
activities.
• Foster community ownership and participation in education, livelihood, and sanitation
initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Timely submission of block-level reports to the Project Coordinator.
• Number of beneficiaries enrolled and verified in ASK and KK centres.
• Improvement in student attendance, nutrition, and learning outcomes across the block.
• Number of Mahadalits families successfully accessing government entitlements.
• Number of livelihood initiatives launched and participants engaged.
• Number of cleanliness/sanitation drives conducted.
• Number of adolescent empowerment sessions delivered.
• Quality and frequency of success stories documented at the block level.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Management, or related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in block-level project coordination or community
development.
• Strong skills in monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in managing teams and working with marginalized communities.
• Familiarity with government schemes and entitlements in Bihar.
• Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and report preparation.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.

Position Title : Driver-cum-Support Staff
Location : Punpun Block, Patna (Community Health Clinic & Mobile Outreach Van)
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Safely operate and maintain the Mobile Outreach Van, ensuring timely travel to
villages and hamlets.
• Support logistics during outreach visits, including loading/unloading medical
supplies, equipment, and IEC materials.
• Assist in distributing medicines and consumables to patients during outreach
activities.
• Ensure regular upkeep of the van, including fuel management, servicing, and
preventive maintenance.
• Provide on-ground support to the medical team during outreach visits, including
setting up consultation areas and assisting with patient flow.
• Maintain accurate records of van usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Uphold hygiene and safety standards within the van, ensuring a clean and organized
environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and community mobilizers to ensure smooth
functioning of outreach operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Timely and safe operation of the Mobile Outreach Van across designated villages.
• Reliability in logistics support and medicine distribution during outreach visits.
• Proper maintenance and cleanliness of the van.
• Effective coordination with medical and outreach staff.
• Accurate documentation of vehicle usage and fuel records.
Required Qualifications
• Valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license issued by the Bihar Transport
Authority.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a driver, preferably in NGO, healthcare, or
community outreach settings.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to assist in logistics and support tasks beyond driving.
• Familiarity with rural areas of Patna district preferred.
• Commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork.
• Proficiency in Hindi/local dialects desirable.
