Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan is a grassroots development organization working since 1996 towards water crisis mitigation in the water-stressed Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The organization is committed to bringing sustainable and qualitative improvements in the lives of vulnerable communities through participatory and community-driven approaches.
Parmarth has strong expertise in water stewardship and works closely with multiple stakeholders including government departments, corporate partners (CSR), local institutions, and communities. The organization implements interventions in areas such as water conservation, watershed development, river rejuvenation, sustainable agriculture, sanitation and waste management, women empowerment, education, and skill development.
Position Overview
Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Coordinator to lead field implementation, community engagement, stakeholder coordination, and project monitoring under water stewardship and rural development initiatives in the Khamgaon Cluster. The Project Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Project Manager (PM) and Program Director (PD) to ensure timely, high-quality, and sustainable project implementation.
Detailed Job Description (JD)
1. Project Planning & Implementation
• Facilitate project implementation to achieve project objectives and expected outcomes under the guidance of the Project Manager and Program Director.
• Ensure timely and quality execution of project interventions related to water conservation, watershed management, agriculture, WASH, and rural development.
• Prepare and implement monthly work plans in coordination with the project team.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, quality, and implementation processes.
2. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
• Lead and supervise the project implementation team, including Cluster Coordinators, Community Resource Persons (CRPs), and other field staff.
• Build the capacity of project staff and community members through regular training, mentoring, and technical support.
• Strengthen the role and performance of Community Resource Persons (CRPs) by providing continuous guidance and monitoring.
3. Community Mobilization & Institution Strengthening
• Promote active community participation in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and sustainability.
• Facilitate community mobilization for water conservation, water resource management, and climate-resilient development.
• Support the formation and strengthening of community institutions such as Pani Panchayat, women groups, farmer groups, and village committees.
• Encourage behavioural change for adoption of Water Use Efficiency and sustainable agricultural practices.
4. Government Convergence & Stakeholder Coordination
• Maintain regular coordination with Gram Panchayats, district administration, line departments, and other government agencies.
• Liaise with government officials, CSR partners, local organizations, and development stakeholders to strengthen project convergence and resource mobilization.
• Support advocacy initiatives and promote collaboration for scaling up project impacts.
5. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly work plans, progress reports, utilization reports, and project documentation.
• Maintain project records, case studies, success stories, and learning documentation.
• Coordinate monthly reporting with the Project Manager and Program Director.
• Support internal and external monitoring visits, audits, donor visits, and project evaluations.
6. Financial & Administrative Coordination
• Monitor project activities against approved budgets and maintain monthly physical and financial progress tracking in coordination with the Finance Team.
• Ensure efficient utilization of project resources and compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
• Support project procurement, documentation, and administrative processes whenever required.
7. Compliance & Organizational Policies
• Ensure adherence to Parmarth's HR Policy, Finance Manual, Gender Policy, Child Protection Policy, and other organizational guidelines.
• Promote ethical practices, transparency, accountability, and safeguarding standards throughout project implementation.
Eligibility Criteria
• Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Rural Development, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Social Work, Environmental Science, Water Resources, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in NGO/CSR/development sector projects.
• Experience in managing community-based rural development and water stewardship projects.
Required Competencies
• Strong understanding of water conservation, watershed management, agriculture, WASH, and rural development.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent coordination, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple activities, field teams, and project timelines effectively.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in NGO and CSR-funded projects.
• Knowledge of government rural development and water resource schemes.
• Experience in community institution building and participatory approaches.
• Strong documentation, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project reporting tools.

Language Requirement
• Working knowledge of Hindi and English.
Compensation & Other Details
• Salary: As per organizational norms and candidate experience.
• Travel: Extensive field travel within project villages is required.
• Reporting To: Project Manager.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
