About the Project
MARI, with support from Swarn Lata Motherson Trust, is implementing the Segregation of Waste for Recycling and Treatment (SORT) Project in Greater Visakhapatnam and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad. The project promotes source segregation, decentralized processing of biodegradable waste through Aerobin technology, resource recovery, institutional capacity building, and community-led sustainable solid waste management.
MARI invites applications from committed, competent, and socially motivated professionals for the following positions:
1. Project Manager – One Position
Location: Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
Monthly Salary: Rs 90,000
Fixed Travel and Mobile Allowance: Rs 7,500 per month
Educational Qualification:
Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Public Administration, Urban Development, Waste Management, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 8–10 years of relevant development-sector experience, including at least three years in a project leadership or senior management role. Experience in solid waste management, urban development, CSR projects, municipal partnerships, or community-based environmental programmes will be strongly preferred.
Brief Role:
Provide overall leadership for project planning, implementation, monitoring, team management, stakeholder coordination, municipal engagement, budget oversight, donor reporting, documentation, and achievement of project outputs and outcomes in Visakhapatnam.
2. Associate Project Manager – One Position
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, with responsibility for project locations under Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation
Monthly Salary: Rs 75,000
Fixed Travel and Mobile Allowance: Rs 7,500 per month
Educational Qualification:
Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Public Administration, Urban Development, Waste Management, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 6–8 years of relevant project implementation experience, preferably involving solid waste management, urban communities, municipal institutions, CSR programmes, behaviour-change communication, or environmental initiatives. Prior team-supervision and reporting experience is essential.
Brief Role:
Lead project implementation in Hyderabad; supervise Cluster Officers and Field Executives; coordinate with municipal authorities, RWAs, institutions, and community stakeholders; ensure timely delivery of activities; and manage monitoring, reporting, documentation, and budget coordination.
3. Cluster Officers – Four Positions
Locations:
- Visakhapatnam – Two positions
- Hyderabad/Malkajgiri – Two positions
Monthly Salary: Rs 40,000
Fixed Travel and Mobile Allowance: Rs 4,500 per month
Educational Qualification:
Postgraduate or graduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Environmental Science, Sociology, Community Development, Public Health, Urban Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of field-level development experience. Experience in solid waste management, community mobilization, municipal coordination, training, sanitation, environmental awareness, or work with RWAs and Urban Local Bodies will be preferred.
Brief Role:
Coordinate implementation across assigned project clusters; supervise Field Executives; facilitate community and stakeholder engagement; organize training and awareness activities; monitor field progress; support assessments and data collection; document results; and submit regular implementation reports.
4. Field Executives – Six Positions
Locations:
- Visakhapatnam – Three positions
- Hyderabad/Malkajgiri – Three positions
Monthly Salary: Rs 25,000
Fixed Travel and Mobile Allowance: ?3,000 per month
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Environmental Studies, Rural Development, Community Development, Public Health, or any relevant social-science discipline. Candidates with suitable field experience and strong community-mobilization skills may also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of grassroots-level experience in community mobilization, awareness campaigns, surveys, sanitation, environmental programmes, youth engagement, or development-project implementation.
Brief Role:
Undertake regular field visits; mobilize households, RWAs, sanitation workers, housekeeping personnel, youth, and community institutions; conduct awareness sessions and meetings; support behaviour-change and IEC activities; collect and maintain field data; assist with trainings and campaigns; monitor activities; and document progress and community feedback.
Candidate Profile
MARI is seeking professionals who demonstrate:
- A genuine commitment to sustainable and decentralized solid waste management;
- Strong interest in environmental protection, circular economy, resource recovery, and community participation;
- Willingness to work extensively in the field and engage with municipal officials, RWAs, sanitation workers, institutions, youth, and communities;
- Ability to work collaboratively, meet timelines, maintain high-quality documentation, and deliver measurable results;
- Integrity, accountability, gender sensitivity, respect for sanitation workers, and commitment to safe and dignified working conditions; and
- Proficiency in Telugu and English. Working knowledge of Hindi will be an advantage.
- The positions require regular field travel within the respective project locations. Candidates should preferably possess a valid driving licence and have access to a two-wheeler, particularly for the Cluster Officer and Field Executive positions.
