About the Program
Jhpiego is implementing a multi-state initiative to strengthen the quality of Antenatal Care (ANC) services in collaboration with state governments. The program focuses on improving maternal and newborn health outcomes by addressing key gaps in service delivery. The intervention adopts a comprehensive approach built on four core pillars: competency strengthening of healthcare providers, ensuring availability of essential commodities, promoting continuity of care across the pregnancy continuum, and enhancing community engagement.
Through targeted capacity building, supportive supervision, digital innovations, and system strengthening, the program aims to improve early identification and management of high-risk pregnancies, increase adherence to ANC protocols, and enhance service utilization.
The goal is to reduce low birth weight, prevent avoidable maternal deaths, and improve overall quality of care at public health facilities.
About the Position
Jhpiego is hiring a Program Assistant based at NHM Jaipur (Rajasthan) to support the Project Director (Maternal Health), in strengthening maternal health data systems, monitoring ANC and High-Risk Pregnancies, Supply and logistics and generating evidence for program planning and decision making. The person will work closely with the State Maternal Health Cell and report administratively to the Senior Programme Officer, Jhpiego, while providing technical support to the Project Director Maternal Health.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Download and manage routine ANC and maternal health datasets from the Rajasthan Government PCTS Portal.
• Conduct periodic analysis of ANC service utilization, maternal health indicators, and High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) data to support evidence-based decision making.
• Monitor PMSMA (Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan) session performance, including service coverage, HRP identification, and district-wise performance trends.
• Track the identification, follow-up, referral, and management status of High-Risk Pregnant Women (HRP PWs) using PCTS and other state reporting systems.
• Prepare district-wise HRP summaries, ANC performance reports, and exception analyses, and share them regularly with the Project Director (Maternal Health) and relevant NHM officials.
• Support state-level review meetings by generating district and block-wise reports.
• Assist Program officer and/or Program coordinator in preparing program reports, activity trackers and factsheets to support evidence-based decisions.
• Undertake additional program support tasks as assigned by the senior program officer/ program officer to support effective program operations and achievement of program goals.
Qualifications and Experience
• Graduate degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in health data analysis or program monitoring.
• Prior experience with NHM data systems preferred.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong skills in data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
• Ability to convert data into clear insights and action points.
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced), dashboards, and basic analytics tools.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
• Ability to communicate data insights to non-technical audiences.
