Position Summary
SwitchON Foundation is looking for a proactive and dedicated Project Coordinator to support the implementation of its Government Skill Development Programs, including residential projects such as DDU-GKY. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in mobilizing youth, coordinating training centre operations, ensuring smooth program implementation, and serving as the primary point of coordination between the field, the training centre, and the project team.
The selected candidate will initially be based at the Kolkata office for approximately 3–6 months and will travel regularly to project locations. Thereafter, the role will be based full-time at the Joka Training Centre, where the Project Coordinator will independently oversee day-to-day centre operations and ensure the successful execution of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
Centre Readiness
- Coordinate with vendors for centre setup activities, including quotation collection, comparison, and vendor management.
- Support the identification and finalization of suitable training centre locations in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor centre infrastructure work to ensure timely completion and compliance with organizational and project standards.
- Ensure the training centre is fully operational and prepared for due diligence inspections by government authorities, funding agencies, or other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all required infrastructure, documentation, equipment, branding, and operational requirements are in place prior to centre launch and inspection.
Mobilization & Community Outreach
- Plan and execute mobilization activities across West Bengal to identify and enroll eligible youth for skill development programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, educational institutions, Panchayats, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct awareness campaigns, counselling sessions, and community meetings to promote government skill development initiatives.
- Ensure achievement of mobilization targets within the assigned geography.
Centre Coordination & Operations
- Coordinate the day-to-day functioning of the residential training centre.
- Ensure smooth admission, onboarding, and documentation of trainees.
- Coordinate with trainers, hostel staff, and support teams to maintain efficient centre operations.
- Monitor trainee attendance, discipline, and overall engagement throughout the training period.
- Ensure compliance with project guidelines, organizational policies, and government requirements.
Project Implementation & Coordination
- Support the execution of project activities in accordance with timelines and project objectives.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely completion of operational requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and records accurately.
- Assist in organizing meetings, training sessions, assessments, and placement-related activities.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track trainee enrollment, attendance, retention, and project progress.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Identify operational challenges and coordinate with the reporting manager to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate MIS and documentation related to project implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with government officials, partner organizations, local authorities, and community representatives whenever required.
- Represent SwitchON Foundation professionally during field visits and official meetings.
- Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders to support successful project implementation.
Qualifications
Mandatory
- 1–5 years of experience in project coordination, field operations, mobilization, community engagement, or training centre management.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in field-based environments and interacting with diverse communities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Candidates with qualifications in Social Work, Rural Development, Management, or related fields will be preferred.
Language
- Proficiency in Bengali and Hindi is mandatory.
- Basic English communication skills will be an added advantage.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Candidates should be comfortable relocating to the Joka Training Centre after the initial induction period.
- Ability to work independently while managing centre operations.
- Passion for community development, youth empowerment, and skill development initiatives.
Compensation
Monthly Salary: Rs 18,000 – Rs 28,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
Reimbursements: Travel and other official expenses as per organizational policy.
Reporting To
Senior Project Manager
Travel Requirements
Frequent travel across West Bengal for mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation. The role will initially operate from the Kolkata office before transitioning to the Joka Training Centre.
