Foundation for Child Protection (FFCP)-Muskaan is a Pune-based Section 8 organisation working since 2000 towards the prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and providing support to children and survivors of abuse.
FFCP-Muskaan follows a multidisciplinary approach involving prevention, counselling, casework, police support and legal assistance. The organisation works closely with children, survivors and their families, police authorities, Child Welfare Committees (CWC), Juvenile Justice Boards (JJB), Child Care Institutions (CCI), schools, communities and other stakeholders.

Role:
• The In-house Lawyer will work as a watching advocate, will work closely with the
organisation's case workers, in POCSO cases taken up by FFCP-Muskaan.
• Coordinate with external advocates wherever court representation is assigned to an
empanelled advocate.
• Assist families in understanding legal procedures, rights and available remedies.
• Undertake home and field visits when required.
• Review case facts and prepare appropriate legal strategies
• Maintain accurate and confidential legal case records.
• Track the progress of cases and ensure timely follow-up.
• Keep the organisation updated about important changes in child protection laws and
procedures.
• Training & Capacity Building
• Conduct POCSO sessions and trainings for concerned stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:
• LL.B. from a recognised university.
• Enrolment with the Bar Council of India/concerned State Bar Council.
• Strong understanding of Indian child protection laws.
• Good knowledge of POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice law.
• Excellent drafting, documentation and legal research skills and verbal and written
communication
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work sensitively with children, survivors and families.

Preferred Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
• At least 2 years in litigation, legal aid, child rights, criminal law or social-sector legal work.
• Experience in handling or supporting POCSO cases.
• Experience working with NGOs or child protection organisations.
• Experience in conducting legal awareness or capacity-building programmes.

Working Hours:
• Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 pm
• Alternate Saturdays off after completion of the probation period.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
