Background of the Organisation:
CHETNA recognizes that health and nutrition are critical for the physical and mental development of children, adolescents, young people and women but many families are unable to enjoy healthy lives due to lack of knowledge and resources. CHETNA believes that women's empowerment should be aimed at raising their self-esteem, confidence and consciousness, which further enables them to access health and nutrition services that directly affect their health and wellbeing.
Our focus areas are:
• Addressing and preventing under-nutrition among children, adolescents and women
• Enhancing the value of the girl child
• Strengthening Early childhood education and school readiness
• Improving reproductive and sexual health of adolescents, young people and women.
• Improving maternal, infant and young child health
• Supporting the state government and non-governmental organisations in strengthening service delivery systems.

Currently CHETNA operates in 7 states and is implementing various initiatives in health, nutrition, early childhood development and adolescent programming as technical partner to the Government departments, CSRs and bilateral organisation as well as an implementation agency.

Location: Ahmedabad with occasional travel in the field offices

Purpose of the position and key functions
CHETNA is looking for a dynamic, committed and proactive professional to lead its Human Resources and administrative operations. The post would be contractual in nature and incumbent would involve working closely with the Director, teams from different thematic areas and partners. The incumbent will ensure high level of HR related initiatives, providing quality advice, support in streamlining HR processes, coordination, solution of HR related issues through equitable and transparent way to protect the staff and organisational interests. Under the supervision of Director, the incumbent will carry out following key functions as below:
• Development of partnerships, MoUs, agreements, SOPs.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services.
• Build and maintain a database of approved vendors; conduct periodic vendor evaluations.
• Development and implementation of HR strategy through the interpretation of existing guidelines and policies to address and recommend solutions or further changes/ actions as required.
• HR administration process and data focal point, including the collection, interpretation, and analysis of HR data, present dashboards to help inform decision making on HR processes and strategies.
• Reviewing and advising management in updating HR and Admin related existing policies, SOPs and developing/ streamlining new SOPs as per the requirement.
• Maintain digital/physical personnel records, update internal data base, and support in recruitments, on boarding and off boarding processes.
• Gathering of payroll data, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and labour laws.
• Identifying capacity building needs of the team and organize periodic meetings, workshops, develop reports.
• Develop and update guidelines for performance management, orienting teams, keeping track and ensure completions.
• Collect from the team developmental needs and provide support in getting these needs met.
• Managing office supplies, vender relationships, facility and asset management.
• Logistics, event and travel management, organization of state level trainings, workshops, round tables, seminars.
• Ensuring office maintenance, cleanliness and hygiene through guiding support staff.
• Vehicle maintenance and management.
• Record keeping and documentation

To qualify, you will have…
Minimum requirements:
Education: A university degree is required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology or other related areas.
Work Experience: At least 10 years of professional experience in human resource management, operations as well as administration in an NGO/ Trust/ Foundation is required.

* Proven expertise in implementing data-driven quality assurance measures, conducting risk assessments, and establishing operational controls that align with organizational standards.
* knowledge of the principles and concepts of human resources management.
* Human resource management and training skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage admin and operations
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Strong stakeholder management and strategic leadership capabilities
* Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and tools.
• Interpersonal relations and Communication
* Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse organization tailoring language, tone, style and format to match audience.
* Ability to empathize with project teams, supervisors and staff while advocating for consistent and equitable applications of HR regulations and rules.
* Ability to advise in situations that require confidentiality and sensitivity, demonstrating sound judgment.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Gujarati language is required. Working knowledge of Hindi will be desirable.
OFFICIAL TRAVEL INVOLVED: Occasionally in the field offices
