About the Institution :
Uttaran Institute of Social Sciences (UISS) is a private college functioning under the aegis of Chatta Begum Rokeya Educational Society (CBRES) and affiliated to The University of Burdwan. The Institute offers a Two Year Master of Social Work (MSW) Programme in Regular Mode.
UISS invites applications from qualified, competent and motivated candidates for the following positions:
Vacant Position :
1. Principal
- No. of Post: 01
- Qualification: Master of Social Work (MSW) from Reputed University/ Institute.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant academic/administrative experience
Preference:
Candidates with strong academic leadership, administrative and institutional management experience will be preferred.
2. Lecturers
- No. of Post: 02
- Qualification: Master of Social Work (MSW)/ Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from Reputed University/ Institute.
- Experience: Relevant teaching/academic experience desirable.
Preference:
Candidates having relevant academic, teaching and professional exposure in Social Work/Social Sciences will be preferred.
3. Guest Lecturers
- No. of Post: 03
- Qualification: Master of Social Work (MSW)/ Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from Reputed University/ Institute.
- Experience: Relevant experience desirable.
Preference:
Candidates having experience in teaching, fieldwork, research, community development or professional practice in Social Work/Social Sciences will be preferred.
Required / Desirable Skills :
Candidates applying for any of the above positions should preferably possess the following skills:
- Strong academic knowledge in Social Work, Social Sciences and related areas.
- Good teaching, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, University authorities and other stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments and assessments.
- Ability to mentor, guide and motivate students in their academic and professional development.
- Basic knowledge of research, academic writing, documentation and fieldwork.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching, learning and academic management tools.
- Good organizational, time-management, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, fieldwork and institutional activities.
- Commitment to professional ethics, teamwork, discipline and maintaining a positiveacademic environment.
Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualification, experience and institutional norms.
Nature of Engagement
All positions are contractual in nature. (Renewal/continuation may be considered based on satisfactory performance and applicable norms.)
