Purpose of the position:

Under this post your contribution will be to overall implementation of the project with the help of the director of the organization & documentation of the project. The thrust of the work will be to promote the importance of child protection & fighting for their rights through the activities planned & proposed as per budget & the need of the time. All the program will be implemented timely with due consultation of director of the organization & the project manager at the district level through effective communication. The various activities & programs based on child rights & development & issues with a focus on children. All the activities will be documented the processes, publications, maintenance of documents and management of IEC material communication channels in coordination with the district project supervisors and Networking & Information Mobilizer as well as community facilitator. This project is implemented in 3 districts (Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai)

Duration:
This position will be initially for three months & further extendable based on performance.

Duties and responsibilities

* Work closely with the director & district program manager to develop a strategy for the selected children of 3 districts for the overall development & for their rights.
* Develop relevant IEC materials; children interest stories, significant change stories, through relevant media and network channels].
* Ensure timely and quality production of advocacy with the help of advocacy officer.
* Dissemination of materials on study findings, significant change stories, documentaries, etc.
* Facilitate the coordination of the meetings, workshops, seminars etc at the district level & state level.
* Preparing reports, manuals, briefing notes, child policy papers, process documentation, and other materials required as per the need of the project with timely consultation of the director.
* Educating & the community facilitator at regular intervals with regard to the need of the project & child rights. Updating the project staff in the development of child right policy & the new challenges arising with involvement of the children.
* Maintaining & dissemination of study reports, publications, press releases and clippings, photographs, audio-visual materials, web resources, etc.
* Skills in systematic literature review and data management
* Demonstrated understanding of urban poverty issues and child rights
* Proven interest in issues of children, social justice, gender equity, governance in India.

Educational Qualification:
Masters degree in social work/Social Sciences/ or equivalent. Working experience in the field of child right or child development sector is an advantage.

Work experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the areas of child rights/protection/urban poverty and/or relevant experience in the field of child development sector. Documentation writing experience preferable.
