Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN), Hyderabad is an organisation focused on natural resources management and livelihoods. It engages actively in policy action at the state and national level, especially for rainfed areas. It has contributed substantially to the development of national and state watershed policies. It is also working with various partners across India as part of the Revitalising Rainfed Agriculture (RRA) Network.
About the initiative:

Common Ground is an initiative aimed to achieve resilient social, ecological, and economic outcomes for marginalised groups through the inclusive and decentralised governance of the Commons. Working as a collaboration of civil society, governments, and markets, Common Ground strives to connect, convene, and align diverse actors for coherent action at the landscape-level. As a part of this collaborative effort, WASSAN is working on anchoring landscape partnerships to catalyse action for resilient systems and communities. In this context, WASSAN, along with other actors, has created a ‘Multi-Actor Landscape Platform (MAP) for Agroecology’ to foster partnerships between local governments, civil society, community-based organisations, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders for sustainable landscape transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. LRC Management & Coordination-
a. The LRC Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the overall functioning by leading the day-to-day operations.
b. Candidates will ensure that all its outputs are well aligned with the priorities of the MAP.
2. Landscape Planning & Analysis
a. Candidates will ensure development of comprehensive geo-spatial and socio-economic landscape profiles.
b. Candidates will support detailed systems analysis covering production systems (e.g. agriculture), livelihoods, and local economy to inform planning processes.
c. Candidates will provide critical analytical inputs for the preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), departmental convergence plans, and MAP action plans, ensuring data-driven and context-specific decision-making.
3. Multi-Actor Platform Support-
a. Candidates will assist MAP Action Groups by providing relevant data, planning tools, and analytical support to enhance their effectiveness.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)-
a. Candidates will lead the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) functions by designing and operationalising appropriate MEL frameworks for MAP initiatives.
b. Candidates will facilitate periodic reviews, reflection workshops, and documentation of key learnings to support adaptive management and continuous improvement.
5. Convergence & Investment Tracking-
a. Candidates will play a critical role in convergence and investment tracking by systematically monitoring public schemes and external funding flows.
b. Candidates will analyse gaps and opportunities for convergence to ensure better alignment and efficient utilization of resources across sectors.
6. Knowledge Management & Documentation-
a. Candidates will lead knowledge management and documentation efforts by systematically capturing and documenting key processes, innovations, case studies, and best practices emerging from the field.
b. Candidates will also consolidate and curate learning outputs generated through the MAP to ensure they are structured and accessible.
c. Candidates will ensure effective dissemination of these knowledge products to a wide range of stakeholders- Government departments, CSOs, community institutions and others
7. Technology & Partnerships-
a. Candidates will facilitate technology integration and partnerships by coordinating closely with the WASSAN IT Team, Gram Vani (IIT Delhi – Core Stack), and other DPI ecosystem partners to strengthen digital infrastructure and collaboration.
b. Candidates will ensure the effective use of dashboards, data systems, and digital tools to support planning, monitoring, and decision-making processes, thereby enhancing efficiency, transparency, and real-time data utilization across interventions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:

a. Bachelor/ Master degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Data Science, Management or related field
b. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in rural development or large scale government programs
Skills and Competencies:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a. Strong facilitation, coordination, and leadership skills
b. Exposure to MEL systems and data-driven planning
c. Ability to translate data into actionable insights
d. Proficiency in Odia, Hindi and English
Note
a. Candidates will be stationed in Jeypore, Koraput and have to travel extensively for field visits as per programme requirements.
b. Candidates should have his/her own bike for commuting and possess a valid driving licence.
