About SNEHA
SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) is a Mumbai-based non-profit working to improve the health, nutrition, and safety of women and children in vulnerable urban communities. Its key programs include Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health, Prevention of Violence against Women and Children, Public System Partnership, and Palliative Care. Between 2016 and 2025, SNEHA directly reached over 620,555 people and indirectly impacted more than 3.63 million people across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

About the Program
The Public System Partnership Program works with municipal corporations and government health facilities to improve maternal and child health services through stronger referral systems and community engagement.

About the Nashik Project
The project aims to strengthen maternal and newborn referral systems across Nashik’s public health facilities, including PHCs, Rural Hospitals, Sub-District Hospitals, and higher-level facilities. It focuses on early identification of high-risk pregnancies, timely referrals, standardized documentation, improved coordination, and better maternal and newborn health outcomes.

Position: Program Officer

Location: Nashik District

Reports to: Program Coordinator

Qualification: Graduate degree

Experience: 3–5 years, preferably with government health facilities or municipal hospitals; maternal and child health experience is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assess health facilities and monitor maternal health and referral systems.
2. Coordinate with government health officials, hospitals, PHCs, and healthcare providers.
3. Support referral documentation, data entry, quality checks, and reporting through CommCare.
4. Organize training, meetings, and capacity-building activities for healthcare staff.
5. Conduct facility visits, troubleshoot implementation challenges, and follow up on action points.
6. Maintain monthly reports, case stories, meeting minutes, and referral data.
7. Support program reviews and coordination with municipal and state health authorities.

Critical Traits
1. Proficiency in Hindi and Marathi, with working knowledge of English.
2. MS Office, documentation, and reporting skills.
3. Ability to work independently, manage time, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
4. Ethical conduct, integrity, and resilience in field settings.
5. Willingness to travel within Nashik and occasionally to Mumbai.
6. Must have a personal two-wheeler for local travel.
