1. Background and Context
About Youngistaan Foundation
Youngistaan Foundation (Youngistaan) is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation working alongside children, adolescents and families in underserved urban communities. Its programmes span education, gender and health, livelihoods, climate action, youth development, social welfare entitlements and community development.

About the Programme
The first 1,000 days of life are critical to a child’s health, growth and brain development. However, many children aged seven months to three years from low-income working families lack access to adequate nutrition, healthcare and responsive care. The limited availability of public creches further widens this gap.

To address this need, Youngistaan is establishing community-based creches across urban communities in Hyderabad. These creches will provide safe, nurturing spaces close to home, where children receive nutritious meals, engage in age-appropriate play and early learning activities, and benefit from care provided by trained caregivers from their own communities. Regular growth monitoring will help identify early signs of malnutrition and facilitate timely referrals to health services.

Youngistaan is seeking a dedicated field team to support the establishment and day-to-day functioning of these creches in close collaboration with communities, ensuring quality childcare and a nurturing environment for every child.

2. Job Description:
Logistics is the backbone of the creche intervention. The Logistics Coordinator makes sure every creche is set up and run with the right materials, in the right quantity and quality, on time. The role covers everything from identifying vendors to delivering and checking materials at the centres, and can span 100 or more creches. It is important that the Logistic Coordinator studies the organization policies well and goes through the list of materials needed for the creche operations.

3. Roles and Responsibilities
Pre-Setup Phase
1. Understand organizational policies on logistics requirements and procurement.
2. Support logistics for the team orientation.
3. Visit a running creche during the exposure visit to observe the materials used and the quality required.

Set-up Phase
1. Identify vendors for one-time materials, groceries, toys, measuring equipment, safety gates, fencing, electricity, solar, gas connections and other required materials for the creche and necessary materials for the office setup as well.
2. Support the field team with materials and resources to get spaces ready.
3. Procure and supply all creche set-up materials on time, as per the list.
4. Collect and check quotations, bills and vouchers for all procurement.
5. Support and facilitate settlement of team members' travel claims.
6. Make and support necessary arrangements for creche inaugurations.

Operational Phase
1. Collect material requisitions from supervisors regularly and on time.
2. Place orders for creche groceries and supplies after internal approval.
3. Audit, sample and check items regularly.
4. Ensure monthly delivery of creche items on the agreed dates.
5. Visit creches at delivery to confirm items are delivered safely and match the ordered weight and quality.
6. Coordinate with Accounts and Finance person for timely payment of vendor bills and vouchers.
7. Track monthly requisitions, usage and balances, and analyse trends for timely action.
8. Ensure timely delivery of eggs to centres at the right frequency for the season.
9. Check centres regularly for FIFO (first in, first out), expired materials and proper storage of groceries and supplies.
10. Maintain records and use them for planning and execution.
11. Ensure caregivers and supervisors have cash in hand on time to buy vegetables.

4. Qualifications and Experience
• Graduate in any subject, with a working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• About 3 years of experience in managing logistics, vendors or office administration.
• Preferably from Hyderabad or the local area.
