About the Organisation
SAFE is a registered non-profit civil society organization working at the science-society interface towards sustainable environment development and poverty alleviation in the Indian eco-region of South Asia since the year 2004. Job Summary
The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring environmental sustainability programmes of the organization. The role involves coordinating with project teams, community stakeholders, and partner institutions to ensure effective programme execution and impact. The candidate should possess strong project management skills, field engagement experience, and the ability to oversee multiple programme activities.

Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, or Life Sciences from a recognized institution.

Experience
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in environmental sustainability, development sector programmes, or NGO project management.

Skills and Competencies
1. Strong programme and project management skills
2. Knowledge of environmental sustainability, conservation, and community-based development approaches
3. Experience in stakeholder engagement and community mobilisation
4. Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication skills
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
7. Proficiency in MS Office and project documentation tools

Salary: Negotiable

Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning and Implementation
1. Plan, implement, and manage environmental sustainability projects and initiatives.
2. Develop project work plans, timelines, and implementation strategies.
3. Coordinate with field teams to ensure smooth execution of programme activities.
4. Monitor programme progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.

Project Monitoring and Reporting
1. Track programme performance and maintain documentation of activities and outcomes.
2. Prepare periodic progress reports, project updates, and donor reports.
3. Conduct field visits and assessments to ensure quality implementation.

Stakeholder and Community Engagement
1. Liaise with community members, partner organizations, and institutional stakeholders.
2. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and awareness programmes related to environmental sustainability.
3. Strengthen partnerships with local institutions, government bodies, and collaborators.

Team Coordination
1. Provide guidance and support to programme staff and field teams.
2. Coordinate internally with administrative, finance, and communication teams for programme activities.
3. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across project stakeholders.
