Foundation for Child Protection-Muskaan is an NGO working to prevent Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and help survivors since the year 2000. We focus not only on children, but on all stakeholders, viz. teachers, police, lawyers and child protection agencies. We also work with children staying in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in need of care and protection as well as children in conflict with the law (CICL) at Observation Homes to expedite the process of rehabilitation and restoration of their lost childhood.

Position Purpose:
Foundation for Child Protection – Project Muskaan is looking for a full-time Social Worker for the role of “Support Person” (under Section 39 of the POCSO Act, 2012) to handle cases of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and POCSO. The Support Person acts as a vital liaison between stakeholders, the child, and the family, assisting them through the various stages of the case.
Protection and Safety- Assess the child’s safety needs and coordinate with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for protection, relocation, or alternative care when required.

Role & Responsibilities:
Health and Emotional Care-Facilitate access to medical treatment, counselling, and other necessary support services.

Legal Assistance- Inform the child and family about legal procedures, available services, case updates, and compensation schemes, including legal aid through DLSA.

Accompany the child during statement recording, court proceedings and ensuring child-friendly procedures.

Education and Rehabilitation Support-Ensure continuation of the child’s education and assist with school-related requirements if needed.

Ensure the safety of the child and family, and arrange for rehabilitation when required.

Follow-up and Coordination-Conduct regular Follow-ups, Home Visits and coordinate with the CWC, Police, and DCPU for the child’s safety and well-being.

Documentation and Reporting- Maintain Case Records, collect required documents, submit timely reports to the CWC, and update the POCSO Tracking Portal.

Qualifications and Educational Requirement:
? Masters in Social Work (MSW) with preferably 3+ years of relevant experience.
? Experience working on Child Rights, Juvenile Justice, and POCSO will be preferred.
? Diploma or certification in counselling would be a value addition.
? Good communication skills in Marathi and Hindi. Knowledge of English would be a value addition.

Desired Expectations:
? Passionate about working against Child Sexual Abuse and committed to the best interests of the child.
? Willingness to work late hours at police stations and conduct home visits when required.
? A personal vehicle and a valid driving license will be considered an added advantage.

Working Hours:
• Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
• Alternate Saturdays off after completion of the probation period.

Compensation: Depending on the experience.
