Establishment and Development of Farmer Business School in Laxmipur, Nandapur, Pottangi and Semiliguda blocks of Koraput
Background
Heifer International has been transforming lives of smallholder farmers for the last 80 years through building social capital, livelihoods enhancement, income enhancement, social security and wellbeing of the community. It has been operational in Odisha for more than 15 years. It has partnered with PRASTUTEE and WORD having decades of experience in various sectors like livelihoods, Health, Education, etc. Through the partnership, Women Entrepreneur for Women Entrepreneur (WE4WE) initiative is under progress with four FPOs of Koraput under the Odisha Socio Economic Development (OSED) project.
The project emphasizes on livelihoods enhancement of smallholder women farmers through Millets, Ginger and Turmeric Value Chain Development while caring for the earth. This project has a provision for direct input support and capacity building for making agriculture an economically viable activity. On farm practical learning and proper end use of the input support is necessary to ensure development of the target population. For successful and sustainable utilization, it needs a solid demonstration unit where the farmers will see and practice what they have learnt theoretically. The Farmer Business School (FBS) approach is being developed extensively as an alternative to the prevailing top-down agricultural extension approach. The FBS is expected to be a centre of learning by doing, co learning and sharing of knowledge. It will be a hub to conserve traditional knowledge and adopt locally feasible new technologies.
Looking at the geography of the project villages and taking the convenience of the members, establishment of ten FBS is proposed. This initiative will help to spread the best technology to participants and interested farmers in all project villages and adjoining villages; and enable them to manage their crops better and get better harvest in quality and quantity. This will motivate more farmers to take up for profit agriculture in the coming years.
Scope of work
We invite vendors having expertise in this sector to quote their price as per the details and share in the email provided here. The vendor will complete supply of all materials for ten FBS at designated locations in Laxmipur, Nandapur, Pottangi and Semiliguda blocks of Koraput district by 31st March 2026. All the ten FBS will be developed at an average area of 02 to 2.5 acre of medium and upland.

Timeline
- The last date of submission of quotation is 19th March 2026.
- The vendor must quote including transportation cost and supply the materials in good condition in all ten FBS locations.
