Role Overview

The Hostel Warden will be responsible for the overall management, safety, and well-being of students residing at the Rohru Centre hostel. The role requires a compassionate, disciplined, and responsible individual who can ensure a supportive and inclusive living environment for visually impaired students.

Key Responsibilities1. Hostel Management

Oversee day-to-day hostel operations
Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of hostel premises
Manage room allocation and student records
2. Student Welfare & Support

Ensure safety, security, and well-being of all residents
Provide emotional and basic guidance support to students
Maintain discipline and a positive living environment
3. Supervision & Monitoring

Monitor daily routine (wake-up, meals, study hours, lights off, etc.)
Maintain attendance and movement registers
Handle emergencies and report incidents promptly
4. Coordination

Coordinate with teachers, trainers, and management staff
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians when required
Assist in organizing events, trainings, and activities
5. Administrative Duties

Maintain hostel records and documentation
Ensure proper use of hostel facilities and resources
Support procurement and inventory management
Required Qualifications & Skills

Graduate in any discipline (Social Work / Education preferred)
Experience in hostel management or working with children/persons with disabilities preferred
Basic understanding of disability inclusion (especially visual impairment)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Responsible, empathetic, and disciplined personality
Additional Requirements

Willingness to stay on campus (if residential role)
Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently
Basic computer knowledge is an advantage

Reporting To: Centre Head / Program Manager

Remuneration: As per Saksham Trust norms (based on experience and qualifications)
