Job Position – Project Coordinator
Location: Panna District, Madhya Pradesh

The organization strengthens civil society organizations, Panchayats, and Urban Local Bodies, providing a supportive bridge between the voices of marginalized communities and governance institutions.
Position Overview
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination, planning, and implementation of project interventions related to climate resilience, water resource management, livelihoods, agriculture, and community institutions. The role involves close engagement with communities, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), SHGs, farmer collectives, and government stakeholders & donor agency to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes. The position will also support convergence, capacity building, monitoring, and documentation across thematic areas.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Programme Planning & Implementation
• Coordinate implementation of project activities across themes including:
1. Climate resilience and GPDP integration
2. Water harvesting and water resource management
3. Drinking water access and grey water management
4. Agriculture and climate-adaptive farming practices
5. Livelihood promotion (farm and non-farm sectors)
• Support village-level planning and integration into Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP)
• Ensure timely execution of activities as per approved plans and targets
2. Climate Resilience & Natural Resource Management
• Facilitate participatory assessments and planning for common resource management
• Support creation and renovation of water harvesting and recharge structures
• Promote soil moisture conservation, plantation, and watershed activities
• Strengthen community-led initiatives for climate adaptation
• Promote safe drinking water facilities and ensure water security though appropriate measures
3. Livelihoods & Agriculture
• Promote climate-adaptive agriculture practices and technologies
• Facilitate trainings, exposure visits, and advisory services for farmers
• Support livelihood diversification in farm and non-farm sectors (dairy, goatery, poultry, fisheries, etc.)
• Strengthen Farmer Collectives and SHGs for value chain development and market linkages
4. Institution Building & Community Mobilization
• Strengthen SHGs, producer groups, and community collectives
• Facilitate community awareness programs, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement
• Promote participation in Gram Sabha and local governance platforms
5. Financial Inclusion & Digital Empowerment
• Facilitate access to government schemes, entitlements, and financial services
• Support financial literacy and digital literacy initiatives, especially for women
• Promote use of digital platforms and technical solutions for community institutions
6. Capacity Building & Training
• Organize trainings and exposure visits for Community members, SHGs and collectives, PRI representatives
• Provide handholding support to field teams and community cadres
7. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
• Track progress against project indicators and outputs
• Document case studies, best practices, and field learnings
• Prepare periodic reports and support MIS updates
• Ensure quality data collection and reporting
8. Stakeholder Engagement & Convergence
• Coordinate with government departments, PRIs, and other stakeholders
• Support convergence with schemes related to Water, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Financial inclusion
• Participate in review meetings, workshops, and consultations
Qualifications & Experience
• Graduation/Post-Graduation in Rural Development, Social Work, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or related fields
• 3–6 years of experience in development sector (livelihoods, water, governance, or climate resilience preferred)
• Strong understanding of PRI systems, GPDP, and community-based approaches.
• Experience working with SHGs, farmer groups, and rural communities.
• Good facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; ability to type and communicate in Hindi is essential.
• Prior experience of working in Madhya Pradesh districts is desirable.
Remuneration
Samarthan offers renewable contractual employment. The annual CTC is up to INR 6,00,000, and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
