REACH is a non-profit organisation working on Tuberculosis and Non-Communicable Diseases, headquartered in Chennai. Established in 1999, REACH is currently implementing multiple projects across the country.
REACH is looking to recruit an District Research Coordinator to provide research and implementation support for a new study on TB and mental health. The ideal candidate is a tech savvy medical researcher with strong expertise in research skills, monitoring & evaluation and comprehensive documentation. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the end-to-end implementation of the research project at the district level, ensuring adherence to study protocols, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and operationalize district-specific plans aligned with the overall study design, including sampling strategies, field implementation plans, and monitoring frameworks.
- Supporting the identification, screening, and recruitment of health workers
- Providing technical supervision and supportive monitoring to field teams to ensure fidelity to research protocols, data collection standards, and intervention delivery processes.
- Establishing and maintaining coordination mechanisms with the District TB Cell, National TB Elimination Programme functionaries, and public health facility staff to facilitate integration of research activities within routine program settings.
- Tracking and monitoring key performance indicators, ensuring achievement of defined output and outcome targets as per the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework.
- Planning and facilitating capacity-building initiatives, including training, refresher sessions, and supportive supervision visits, in alignment with study methodologies and implementation needs.
- Conducting periodic review meetings with district and state-level stakeholders to assess progress, identify implementation bottlenecks, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensuring timely preparation and submission of high-quality technical reports, including monthly progress reports, field updates, and analytical summaries.
- Overseeing data quality assurance processes, including field-level data validation, cross-verification, and adherence to data management protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical standards, including informed consent processes, confidentiality safeguards, and documentation requirements.
- Supervising financial and administrative processes at the district level, including verification and approval of field expenditures, invoices, and utilization reports in line with project guidelines.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all research activities, including field notes, monitoring reports, training records, and meeting minutes to support audit and evaluation processes.
- Conducting regular field visits to health facilities to monitor implementation fidelity, assess service delivery integration, and validate reported data.
- Supporting logistics planning and supply chain coordination for project-related materials, ensuring uninterrupted implementation of field activities.
- Contributing to periodic data analysis, interpretation of findings, and documentation of implementation learnings to inform program improvements and dissemination.
- Sharing monthly updates and reports with TB program stake holders
- Perform any other assigned duties related to the project
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
- Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Work, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience (preferably 8+ years) in public health research and implementation research, with demonstrated experience in managing field-based, multi-site projects.
- Strong grounding in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including study design, sampling frameworks, tool development, and field implementation protocols.
- Proven experience in implementation research, including adaptation of interventions within health systems, process documentation, and evaluation of real-world program effectiveness.
- Advanced skills in data management, statistical analysis, and data validation, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights for program improvement.
- Proficiency in digital data collection and management platforms such as REDCap, KoBoToolbox, EpiCollect, or similar systems, including experience in tool design, data monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks, including indicator development, logical frameworks, data quality audits, and use of routine health information systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical report writing, including preparation of donor reports, analytical summaries, and documentation for research dissemination (e.g., manuscripts, policy briefs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to apply data-driven approaches to inform implementation strategies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills, with experience working closely with government health systems (e.g., NTEP), district health officials, and facility-level staff.
- Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder collaborations and coordinate with geographically dispersed teams in a multi-site, multi-state project environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to handle sensitive programmatic contexts with professionalism, cultural competence, and ethical sensitivity.
- High level of research ethics compliance, including familiarity with informed consent procedures, confidentiality protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Willingness and ability to undertake extensive field travel to project sites for supervision, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and produce high-quality technical documentation
