About CSPC: Coastal Salinity Prevention Cell CSPC, a joint initiative of Aga Khan Rural Support program India (AKRSPI), Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) and TATA Trusts as per the solicitation of the Government of Gujarat, incorporated in the year 2008 under section 25 of Companies Act. CSPC is established as an organization for the upliftment of rural communities through multiple social development programs aimed at addressing drinking water and sanitation, agriculture and land development, natural resource management, health and education.
About the Project: CSPC has tied up with Pratham books to manage library implementation across 2000 plus schools & Anganwadi centres of Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts of Gujarat. Age-appropriate Children Literature will be distributed in schools and Anganwadi centres. Anganwadi workers & School teachers will be trained on the use of children Literature in classrooms.
Location and Scale of the project: Jamnagar, Lalpur blocks (Jamnagar District) Okhamandal and khambhaliya block (Devbhoomi Dwarka District)

Salary: It would be competitive with market considering relevant experience, current and past CTC & professional qualifications
Role overview
As part of this role, the candidate would be involved in developing capacity of government teachers and Anganwadi workers in said blocks, help school teachers and Anganwadi workers to establish reading corners & Libraries and spread the Joy of Reading and a book culture. The incumbent would be required to guide the library facilitators who are part of the field team and support them in providing effective support to the teachers and Anganwadi Workers.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• The library coordinator will work as a part of the CSPC team and will take the overall responsibility for the library implementation in school & Anganwadi centres
• Take lead in planning, designing and developing field operation for maximum Coverage
• Develop and execute a plan for continuous professional development of the block level Teachers and Anganwadi workers to spread the joy of reading
• Ensure all the outcomes and outputs are achieved as per the timelines in demonstration projects.
• Work closely with the government officials of the department of Education & ICDS at the district level.
• Coordinate distribution and installation of:
o Library-in-a-Classroom (LIC) units in schools
o ECE reading corners in Anganwadis
• Ensure reading corners are:
o Accessible to all children
o Properly stored and maintained
o Orient educators on effective use and upkeep
• Monitor:
o Access to books and reading corners
o Implementation of library sessions
o Observing reading sessions
o Supporting teachers and Anganwadi workers in using books
o Encouraging regular reading practices
o Addressing on-ground challenges
Planning and Review
• Monthly review of annual plan and progress of activities with the Program head
• Monthly documentation of the program progress along with documentation of key processes
• Monthly/Quarterly/Annual reporting of the program activities and share the report with the Program Manager
• Keep track of all activities of the field projects as per approved annual plan.
• Any other work suggested by Program Manager
Monitoring & Evaluation (Data management)
• Manage data of all assessments (Informal, periodic, third party) and share with Program manager on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Analyze and interpret the data for review and present to the stakeholders
• Keep a record of updated numbers for schools & AWCs, teachers, enrolment, district/block officials
Qualifications & Other Experience required:
• Masters/Post Graduate or equivalent degree MA in Education or B.Ed. with minimum 3-4 years’ relevant experience in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or any Library course like Library Educator course
• Strong conceptual understanding and skills required in Guajarati (language) preferred
• Experience of work in school / community Libraries or early grades /primary education projects is desirable
• Interested in Joyful reading and vivid reader of children Literature him/herself
• Good Training knowledge and Facilitation Skill
• Ability to travel regularly to project area, Anganwadi’s/ schools, urban/rural communities (a non-negotiable)
• Computer skills – preparation of reports, spread sheets, power point presentation, e-communication etc.
• Two-Wheeler required along with License
