I. Introduction:
Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI) is a resource organization committed to improving the overall quality of life in rural and tribal regions across the Central India belt, spanning the states of Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Established in 2007 as an associate organization of Tata Trusts, CInI has pioneered several scalable and impactful programs across key thematic areas—Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WaSH), Education, Sports, Primary Healthcare & Nutrition. Our initiatives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 and have been recognised on national and international platforms. CInI anchors its work in community institutions, women’s collectives, and frontline workers. In partnership with CSOs and State Governments, we leverage technology, and robust processes to deliver sustainable, scalable impact—powered by 300+ development professionals across implementation geographies.

II. Job Purpose:
To strengthen and improve foundational literacy outcomes among students across project schools by providing academic support, capacity building, mentoring, training, monitoring, and resource development in collaboration with teachers, academic institutions, education departments, and other stakeholders. The role focuses on enhancing teaching-learning processes, supporting professional development of educators, implementing literacy interventions, documenting best practices, and ensuring effective execution of project activities at block and district levels for overall system strengthening.

III. Key Accountabilities:
• Ensuring learning outcome improvement of targeted students in all the 100 schools under the project, through working closely with the Teachers, Academic Resource Persons and other stakeholders to achieve foundational literacy outcomes.
• Design and implement the setting up of Academic Resource Centres at CRC, BRC and DIET pertaining to the assigned districts. Develop teaching learning resources (TLRs), training modules and subject contents on the literacy aspect in general and foundational literacy in particular.
• Work closely with primary school teachers for their continuous professional development in Foundational Literacy aspects and facilitate their academic Leadership.
• Capacity building of team and regular field visits to provide monitoring and mentoring support to the field team, teachers and other stakeholders towards implementation of the project activities.
• Continuous documentation of the project processes on the assigned domainespecially assessments and identify successful model of the language learning processes and outcomes.
• Collaborate on the training and capacity building programs in convergence with the Block and District education department ensuring that, the training outcomes are achieved as planned.
• Coordinate and support in implementing tanning modules, assessment tools, training follow ups etc. Support in preparing training calendar and training implementation plan/modules in convergence with the Department and theme lead.
• Update on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading for professional development and sharing.
• Coordinate with the District/Block academic leadership, including DIET, BRC etc. for organizing regular review and monitoring meeting on implementation of the Foundational literacy aspects.
• Conduct periodic review meeting of the field team with specific emphasis on Foundational literacy promotion activities towards overall system strengthening at the block and district level.
• Plan and conduct necessary sharing and dissemination activities with the District/Block academic leadership and other stakeholders for promotion of Foundational literacy activities.
• Any other work as assigned by the Theme lead from time to time.

IV. Eligibility and requirements
Education: Master’s Degree in Education/ Social Science or relevant academic streams.

Experience:
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience in thematic and pedagogical leadership in the relevant field in the areas of teachers training, curriculum development, training module development, instructional material designing
• Program implementation related engagements on thematic aspects with NGOs, Government department, Resource agencies, Academic institutions on literacy theme.
• Experience of working in system strengthening activity in collaboration with government will be an added advantage

Skills, Competencies and Experience:
• Passion to work with children, teachers and community.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and vernacular of the state-Gujarati is must
• Team player, good interpersonal skills, honest, self-motivated and sincere.
• Proficiency in MS OFFICE (word, Excel and Power point) is a must.
