Male Care Taker at Samarpana - Centre for Humane Services

Position: Male Care Takers

Location: Kolathur, Chennai

About the Role

Samarpana is looking for compassionate, responsible, and service-minded male candidates to work as Care Takers for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The role requires patience, empathy, emotional maturity, and a genuine willingness to support vulnerable individuals in their daily lives.

This is not just a supervision role. The job involves direct caregiving responsibility, emotional support, ensuring personal hygiene, accompanying residents for medical care, and maintaining their overall safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure the personal hygiene and cleanliness of residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting support when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic living environment.
- Assist residents during meal times and daily routines.
- Monitor residents' health, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
- Accompany residents for regular hospital visits, therapies, medical reviews, and emergency care.
- Ensure the safety and security of residents at all times inside and outside the campus.
- Handle residents with patience, dignity, kindness, and care.
- Support residents in recreational activities and daily engagement.
- Coordinate with supervisors, therapists, nurses, and management regarding resident care.
- Follow institutional protocols and maintain discipline within the home.

Eligibility Criteria

- Only male candidates can apply.
- Ability to speak and understand Tamil is compulsory.
- Candidates should have a caring nature and service-minded attitude.
- Must be physically and emotionally capable of handling caregiving responsibilities.
- Willingness to stay on campus and work in shifts if required.
- Prior experience in caregiving, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, old age homes, or special homes is preferred but not mandatory.
