Role Purpose
The Manager –National Volunteer Mobilization, Leadership & Engagement is responsible for building, coordinating, and sustaining a national volunteer movement through community?based meal packaging events.
Beyond event coordination, the role is accountable for deep volunteer engagement, including identifying and nurturing volunteers as they progress from contributors to leaders, inspirers, ambassadors, and cause champions of Rise Against Hunger India.
This role designs national frameworks and programs and works through location teams who execute events on the ground.
Core Accountability
The Manager –National Volunteer Mobilization, Leadership & Engagement shall own the national volunteer engagement and community mobilization system for community meal packaging events ensuring scale, consistency, mission connection, and long?term volunteer affiliation with the organization. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining a clear national volunteer journey - from Contributor to Cause Champion - ensuring volunteers are meaningfully engaged, recognized, and empowered as leaders and advocates for the mission.
The role is accountable for maintaining accurate, complete, and timely national?level master data for its domain. Data integrity, reporting readiness, and “single source of truth” ownership form a key performance pillar of the role.
Key Responsibilities
1. National Volunteer Engagement & Leadership Development
This is a core responsibility of the role.
- Design and implement a national volunteer engagement framework that:
- Identifies high?potential volunteers
- Encourages progression from participant → repeat volunteer → leader → ambassador / cause champion
- Work with location teams to:
- Observe, identify, and nominate volunteers demonstrating leadership, commitment, and mission alignment
- Enable experienced volunteers to take on roles such as: Event leads or co?facilitators, Volunteer coordinators, Community ambassadors or advocates
- Build pathways for volunteers to move from transactional engagement to sustained purpose?driven involvement
