Job Summary:
The IT Support Manager is responsible for maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring data security, anchoring system integrations (MIS), and providing effective IT support to staff across locations. The role combines infrastructure ownership, security leadership, systems integration, and staff capacity building.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. IT Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Own and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, networks, servers, and core systems.
- Ensure all IT assets are properly configured, tracked, maintained, and lifecycle?managed.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and performance.
2. Information Security & Data Safety
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s IT security and data protection architecture.
- Ensure secure access controls, role?based permissions, backups, and recovery mechanisms across systems.
- Regularly update security practices, tools, and configurations to address evolving risks.
- Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate responses to security incidents or breaches if any.
3. Systems Integration & MIS Ownership
- Anchor the organization’s MIS initiative from a technical and integration standpoint.
- Manage and maintain the organization’s MIS platforms and website (technical/backend ownership), including system configuration, plugin/module upgrades, licenses, server management, security updates, data safety, backups, and integrations with other internal or third?party systems.
- Support and manage integration between parallel systems to enable data flow and consistency, including but not limited to:
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to design, implement, test, and maintain integrations.
- Ensure system stability, data integrity, security, and scalability across integrated platforms.
4. Staff IT Support & User Management
- Provide IT support to staff for hardware, software, system access, licenses, and troubleshooting.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or recurring IT issues.
- Manage user accounts, access provisioning/de?provisioning, and license management.
- Ensure smooth IT onboarding and offboarding for employees.
5. Training & Field-Level IT Capacity Building
- Train selected field or location?based staff to serve as first?level IT support for basic issues.
- Develop simple guides, checklists, and troubleshooting resources for common IT problems.
- Conduct periodic refresher sessions on IT usage, data safety, and cybersecurity best practices.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Finance, Programs, and Operations teams to support system needs and integration.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors, MIS partners, and service providers as required.
- Report on IT infrastructure health, security status, and key system risks to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of hands?on experience managing IT infrastructure and end?user systems in a multi?location or growing organization.
- Proven experience in managing and supporting:
- Laptops, desktops, peripherals, and office IT infrastructure
- Networks, internet connectivity, and basic server environments
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Computer networks, network administration, and installations
- IT security principles, data protection, backups, access control, and endpoint security
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Windows environment, including Windows OS, Office 365, user administration, and basic server concepts
- Google Workspace, including Admin Console, user and access management, and related tools
- Experience supporting or coordinating system integrations across platforms (e.g., HR systems, payroll, MIS, finance, inventory, or program systems).
- Prior experience of anchoring or supporting an MIS or enterprise system implementation is highly desirable.
- Experience in or exposure to non?profit / social sector organizations will be an added advantage, particularly in distributed or field?heavy environments.
