Job Title: Project Manager - Access to Government Entitlements & Language Documentation Programme
Location: Khanjanpur, Bolpur Sriniketan Block, Birbhum District, West Bengal (field-based with regular travel across 14 project villages)
Reports to: Project Director
Position Type: Full-time, 2-year contract (with possibility of extension based on performance and funding)
Salary: ?20,000 per month

About the Programme
Suchana is implementing a programme in 14 villages of Bolpur Sriniketan block, Birbhum district, to improve access to basic government IDs and welfare schemes, while documenting and promoting the Kora and Santhali languages. The project will reach ~1000 households, focusing on the Santhal and Kora communities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Implementation
? Lead and manage implementation of programme activities across 14 villages.
? Ensure timely organisation of awareness sessions, entitlement camps, youth training, and community meetings.
? Coordinate documentation and promotion of Kora and Santhali languages, including school sessions and storytelling activities.
2. Team Management
? Supervise and support 4 Field Mobilisers and 1 Kora Language Lead.
? Build team capacity, ensure clarity of roles, and monitor field activities.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
? Liaise with government authorities to facilitate entitlement camps and improve access to welfare schemes.
? Strengthen relationships with community leaders, youth groups, and schools.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
? Oversee baseline surveys, household data collection, and documentation of resolutions submitted to Gram Panchayats.
? Track programme indicators (scheme access, youth capacity, language promotion outcomes).
? Prepare monthly, quarterly, and final reports for donors and management.
5. Financial & Administrative Oversight
? Work closely with the Accountant and MIS Officer to ensure proper documentation, budgeting, and reporting.
? Ensure compliance with organisational and donor requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
? Master's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, or related field (desirable: candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered with a Bachelor's degree).
? Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing community-based projects, preferably in tribal development, entitlements, or language documentation.
? Experience working with government schemes, IDs, and rights-based approaches.
? Strong skills in team management, planning, and reporting.
? Familiarity with Birbhum district context and Santhal/Kora communities preferred.
? Fluency in Bengali and Santali/Kora (If possible); English writing and reporting skills required.
