About the Organization:
Yahamogi Farmer Producer Company is a farmer-owned business institution established in 2018 with support from Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI). The company was formed with the objective of improving the livelihoods and income of small and marginal farmers through market access and farm based services at doorstep of shareholders and farmers of the area.
The company focuses on providing quality agricultural input support, collective procurement, aggregation, processing, value addition, and market linkage services to its member farmers. By promoting collective business models and strengthening farmer institutions, the organization aims to enhance productivity, reduce input costs, improve market access, and increase profitability for rural farming communities.
The organization works closely with farmers, government departments, financial institutions, CSR partners, and private market players to develop sustainable agriculture-based enterprises and create long-term socio-economic impact in rural areas. About the Role:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for planning, developing, and expanding business operations of the Farmer Producer Company (FPC). The role focuses on increasing turnover, improving profitability, strengthening market linkages, enhancing farmer participation in business activities, and establishing sustainable business systems for the FPC.
The BDM will lead procurement planning, buyer engagement, collective marketing, agri-input business operations, partnership development, and business expansion activities. The position requires strong knowledge of agriculture markets, value chains, procurement systems, farmer institutions, and agribusiness management. The BDM will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, farmer shareholders, buyers, government departments, CSR partners, and financial institutions to strengthen the business ecosystem of the FPC.
Educational Qualification: B.Sc. Agriculture/BBA/Diploma in agricultural
Experience Required: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO/FPC), Agriculture business development, Agriculture input business.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Identify and develop profitable business opportunities in agri-inputs, seed business, collective marketing, processing, livestock, CHC, and warehouse operations.
• Develop and strengthen market linkages with traders, wholesalers, retailers, processors, exporters, and institutional buyers.
• Negotiate procurement and sales prices to maximize farmer returns.
• Promote collective marketing, branding, packaging, and digital marketing platforms for FPC products.
• Plan and manage seasonal procurement, aggregation, logistics, warehouse, and inventory systems.
• Ensure quality control, stock management, and timely payment to farmers.
• Increase farmer participation in FPC business and collective marketing activities.
• Conduct farmer meetings, awareness programs, and business orientation sessions.
• Train farmers on grading, sorting, quality standards, post-harvest management, and market-oriented production.
• Manage agri-input procurement and distribution including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, bio-inputs, and farm equipmen
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business, procurement, sales plans
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the CEO or Board of Directors.

Indicative Salary Range: Rs 1.5 LPA -2.0 LPA (Depending upon experience, turnover of FPC, business scale, and geography)
