Job Title: Education Lead: (Community Schools, Whole School Transformation & Sustainability
Curriculum)

Location: Bengaluru (Delhi can be considered). The role requires frequent travel to project locations and representation of the organization on different platforms and forums.

Team Managed: Program Managers, Trainers, Field Coordinators, Educators

Role Overview:

The Education Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership, design, and execution of three key program areas:
• Bindi Digital Community School: An informal school program providing foundational learning, digital access, and life skills (aspirations, agency, and leadership building) for children in underserved communities.
• Sikshana Deepa Program: A whole-school transformation initiative strengthening teaching practices, school systems, and student outcomes.
• Bindi Sustainability Curriculum: A cross-cutting curriculum integrating climate, health, gender, digital citizenship, and other life skills, designed for pilot and scale.

A core expectation of this role is to embed meaningful digital integration into teaching, learning, and program delivery, ensuring technology enhances—not replaces—pedagogy, along with technology enabling creation and critical thinking among students and teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Strategy & Integration:
• Develop and drive a cohesive education strategy across informal and formal learning ecosystems.
• Integrate digital learning approaches across all programs to improve access, engagement, and learning outcomes.
• Ensure alignment between:
• Community-based learning models
• School transformation efforts
• Sustainability curriculum
• Digital learning ecosystems
• Design strategies for scaling blended learning models across geographies.

2. Bindi Digital Community School (Informal School Program):
Lead design and implementation of community-based informal learning centers.
Ensure delivery of:
• Foundational literacy and numeracy
• Digital literacy and access to learning technology
• Sustainability curriculum through “Think, Speak, Act” pedagogy
• Introduce blended learning models using tablets, offline content, or low-tech solutions suited to last-mile contexts.
Build systems for:
• Community engagement and ownership
• Student retention and transition into formal schooling
• Facilitator-led digital learning sessions
• Ensure content is localized, accessible, and inclusive.

3. Sikshana Deepa Program (Whole School Transformation):
• Lead implementation of whole-school transformation in partner schools.
• Strengthen:
• Fellows/teacher capacity and pedagogy
• School leadership systems
• Student learning outcomes
• Integrate technology into classrooms, including:
• Digital teaching-learning materials
• Teacher-led use of digital tools
• Blended classroom models
• Design and oversee:
• Teacher training on tech-enabled pedagogy
• Classroom observation tools (including digital usage indicators)
• Support schools to adopt and sustain digital practices within existing constraints.

4. Sustainability Curriculum – Pilot & Scale:
• Lead design, piloting, and scaling of Bindi’s Sustainability Curriculum.
• Integrate themes:
• Climate and environmental awareness
• Health and wellbeing
• Gender and agency
• Digital citizenship
• Financial and life skills
• Leverage digital tools and storytelling formats (videos, interactive content, audio modules).
• Build blended curriculum models combining offline activities with digital reinforcement.
• Develop a scalable, adaptable curriculum model for diverse contexts.

5. Digital Integration & EdTech Systems (Core Focus Area):
• Define and implement a digital learning strategy across all programs.
• Identify and deploy appropriate EdTech solutions, especially for low-resource settings.
• Ensure effective use of:
• Tablets/mobile-based learning
• Offline-first content solutions
• Teacher support apps and dashboards for tracking student learning
• Build systems for:
• Tracking digital usage and learning engagement
• Supporting facilitators, fellows, and teachers in tech adoption
• Evaluate impact of digital interventions on learning outcomes and engagement.
• Ensure technology remains inclusive, accessible, and context-appropriate.

6. End-to-End Program Operations:
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery across all program sites.
• Ensure timely achievement of milestones and deliverables.
• Build strong SOPs, operational systems, and tracking tools.
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality and fidelity.

7. Training & Capacity Building:
• Design and deliver training ecosystems for:
• Teachers/fellows (including tech-enabled pedagogy)
• Community facilitators (including digital facilitation skills)
• Internal teams
• Ensure ongoing mentoring, observation, and feedback loops.
• Build digital confidence and adoption among educators.
• Develop master trainers in blended learning approaches.

8. Fellowship Design & Management:
• Design and implement structured fellowship models for both the Bindi Digital Community School
• (informal learning program) and the Sikshana Deepa fellowship (whole-school transformation
• program), including defining roles, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance
• management. Leverage fellows as on-ground facilitators, classroom support, and innovation drivers, while building a strong pipeline of future education leaders and ensuring their contributions strengthen program delivery, digital integration, and scale.

9. Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:
• Build and manage relationships with:
• Government education departments
• Schools and educators
• CSR partners and funders
• EdTech partners (where relevant)
• Ensure alignment on program goals, deliverables, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities for scale through strategic collaborations.

10. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL):
• Design frameworks to track:
• Learning outcomes (FLN, life skills, agency)
• Program quality and fidelity
• Digital engagement and effectiveness
Use data to:
• Improve program design
• Strengthen digital integration
• Inform scaling decisions
• Develop strong reports, dashboards, and insights.

11. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• Drive innovation across:
• Informal learning models
• School transformation approaches
• Digital and blended learning
• Sustainability education
• Pilot and refine new tools, models, and approaches.
• Build evidence-based models for scale.

12. Financial & Budget Management:
• Develop and manage budgets across all program verticals with due approvals.
• Allocate resources for digital infrastructure and tools effectively.
• Track expenditures and ensure cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.

13. Team Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a multi-level, multi-location team.
• Set clear KPIs, including digital adoption and learning outcomes.
• Build a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
• Support team growth and leadership development.

14. Fundraising:
• Support fundraising efforts through pitching ideas and models.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field
6+ years of experience in:
• Education program design and implementation
• School systems and/or community-based education
• Demonstrated experience in integrating technology in education programs
• Experience working with government systems and CSR-funded programs

Key Skills:

Success in This Role Looks Like:
• Community learning centers effectively use blended learning approaches
• Schools demonstrate meaningful integration of technology in classrooms
• Sustainability curriculum is interactive, engaging, and scalable (including digital formats)
• Teachers and facilitators are confident users of digital tools
• Programs show measurable improvements in both learning outcomes and engagement

Compensation:

Monthly compensation in the range of INR 70,000 – 85,000, based on experience and fit.

Additional provision for performance-linked compensation tied to end-to-end fundraising efforts,
including:
• Lead generation and partnership development
• Proposal development and donor engagement
• Successful closure of funding opportunities
