POSITION ROLE
This role provides strategic leadership for communications, positioning it as a core driver of organizational growth, digital innovation, fundraising, and advocacy. It oversees endto end digital marketing, content, and social media strategies to strengthen brand visibility, donor engagement, and measurable impact while leveraging data-driven insights for continuous improvement. The position also builds internal and partner capacity, manages vendors, and ensures high quality, on brand creative execution across all platforms.
 
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Initiative Leadership
  • Co-lead the development and execution of the organization’s overarching communications strategy, aligning with mission, vision, and long-term goals.
  • Position communication as a catalyst for organizational growth, embedding strategy into programmatic, fundraising, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Champion innovation to keep the organization ahead of emerging digital trends and platforms.
Digital Marketing & Fundraising
  • Design and implement integrated digital marketing campaigns that drive visibility, donor engagement, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to optimize donor journeys across email, social media, and digital platforms.
  • Develop persuasive donor communications—messages, brochures, emailers, and merchandise— that strengthen trust and inspire giving.
  • Align fundraising narratives with brand strategy to maximize impact and ROI.
  • manage end to end digital campaigns by strategically planning, executing, optimizing, and measuring performance across platforms. 
Digital & Social Media Strategy
  • Provide strategic oversight of all social media accounts, ensuring consistent brand voice and impactful storytelling.
  • Execute content marketing initiatives across websites, blogs, newsletters, and social platforms.
  • Lead high-impact campaigns that elevate visibility, strengthen engagement, and reinforce brand positioning.
Content Development & Optimization
  • Lead the creation of engaging, audience-specific content tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure optimization for reach, engagement, and conversion across digital channels.
  • Integrate donor-focused storytelling into programmatic and advocacy communications.
Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Audit and analyze digital campaigns to measure ROI and fundraising impact.
  • Translate insights into actionable strategies, driving continuous improvement in marketing and donor engagement.
Creative & Visual Communications
  • Oversee production of visual assets—banners, videos, landing pages—ensuring brand compliance and design excellence.
  • Support teams in finalizing event and campaign materials that reflect organizational identity.

Capacity Building & Partnerships

  • Train and mentor staff and partner NGOs in branding, storytelling, digital marketing, and fundraising communications.
  • Streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency across the organization.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage external vendors—designers, developers, SEO specialists, agencies—ensuring quality, timeliness, and strategic alignment.
  • Build strong partnerships that amplify organizational reach, visibility, and fundraising success.
  • Additional responsibilities given by the manager
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Education: Bachelors in Journalism or any related degree. Master’s preferred.
 
Work Experience: Minimum five years of experience working in marketing/communications
 
Skills and Abilities: Strong writing & editing skills. Storytelling and human-centered narratives. Digital & social media management. Strong experience in creative design. Strategic communication planning

EVALUATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Step 1: HR Pre-Screening:All Job Applications received will be collated by HR and preliminary screening will be conducted based on the minimum education and experience requirements mentioned above. The Applicants that do not meet the education and experience criteria will not be considered further for the selection process. All the qualified applications will be handed over by HR to the Selection Panel.
 
Step 2: Qualified applications will be further reviewed by the Selection Panel. The Selection Panel will assess and rank all the applications based on the following factors for a maximum of 100 points:
 
Job Knowledge (50 points)
Work Experience (50 points)
 
The written test will be conducted for the most highly rated applications. 
 
Step 3: Based on the written test assessment, applications will be further shortlisted for Step 3 i.e. Interview. The applications will be evaluated by the Selection Panel for the final selection, based on the following evaluation factors for a maximum of 100 points.
Clarity and Effectiveness - Communicates ideas clearly, concisely, and logically; adapts message to different audiences (25 Points)
Audience Engagement - Captures attention, uses appropriate tone, and encourages interaction across channels (20 Points)
Strategic Alignment - Aligns communication with organizational goals, brand voice, and messaging strategy (20 Points)
Content Quality and Accuracy - Produces well-written, error-free, consistent, and factually correct content (20 Points)
Responsiveness and Adaptability - Adjusts communication based on feedback, changing priorities, or crisis situations (15 Points)
 
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary starts at INR 925,000 per annum plus benefits, with scope for consideration for adjustment in line with the experience, skills, and knowledge the selected candidate brings.
