Development Alternatives (DA) Group has been promoting ‘inclusive entrepreneurship’- a phenomenon characterised by systemic change that enables under-represented groups such as youth and women to access entrepreneurship opportunities, thereby leading to social inclusion, quality employment, and sustainable economic growth. Among other States, our footprints have been concentrated in Uttar Pradesh, where we have carried out programmes that leverage social innovation tools to unleash entrepreneurial energies in women and youth and build positive ecosystems.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager – Women's Economic Empowerment to join our team. You would be placed in New Delhi and will involve supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of women entrepreneurship and livelihood programmes across multiple geographies. The role requires close coordination with implementation partners, field teams, government stakeholders, financial institutions, and cross-functional internal teams to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystems, support innovation initiatives, generate program insights, and ensure effective execution of project activities and deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Coordination and Execution:
• Develop monthly implementation plans aligned with program goals in coordination with programme teams.
• Track progress against defined output indicators and timelines across geographies
• Identify delays and operational bottlenecks and co-create corrective actions.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure the timely execution of planned activities.
Output Tracking and Reporting:
• Coordinate and maintain the output tracking system for program activities.
• Compile and validate monthly progress reports from field teams and partners.
• Prepare project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely submission of all program deliverables and reports.
Budget Management and Tracking:
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, including projections and revisions.
• Track expenditure against budget lines on a monthly basis.
• Flag variances and support corrective financial planning.
• Coordinate with finance and admin teams to ensure the timely processing of invoices and payments.
Partner and Internal Teams Coordination:
• Coordinate with implementation partners for planning, execution, and reporting.
• Conduct regular review meetings with partners to track performance.
• Align program activities with cross-functional teams (Knowledge and learning, operations, Enterprise Support Service teams, etc.)
• Support the resolution of operational issues across partners and teams.
Systemic Innovation for Strengthening Entrepreneurship Ecosystem:
• Anchor atleast two innovation prototypes or tools for ecosystem strengthening and scale.
• Develop implementation plans and tracking mechanisms for the innovation prototypes and tools.
• Ensure quality implementation and documentation of learnings and emerging trends.
Evidence Building & Insights:
• Collect good practices and insights from various stakeholders in the programme.
• Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency across sources
• Analyze field data to highlight success stories and lessons from women entrepreneurship initiatives.
• Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly insight reports for SEG internal sharing and decision-making.
• Develop case studies, briefs, and internal knowledge products.
• Maintain organized repositories of program documents and reports
Proposal Development & Resource Mobilisation:
• Contribute to proposal development, including data analysis and content inputs
• Support preparation of presentations, concept notes, and reports
• Compile evidence and insights from ongoing programs for external us
Field Engagement:
• Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality implementation and validate data
• Engage with field teams, entrepreneurs, and local stakeholders
• Identify ground-level challenges, opportunities, and feed insights into program design
Administration:
• Maintain documentation for the programme, including MIS updates and compliance records.
• Assist in team scheduling, logistics for field activities, and administrative reporting.
Preferred Qualification, Experience and Skills:
• Qualification/s required Master’s degree in Development Studies, Economics, Sociology, Entrepreneurship, or any other qualification equivalent to a master’s degree.
• Work experience required 1-4 Years in livelihoods and women entrepreneurship.
• Documentation of best practices, case studies, and impact reports. Knowledge-sharing and cross-learning facilitation.
• Strong understanding of women-led entrepreneurship, livelihoods, and communities coordination.
• Experience in coordinating and managing cross-functional teams, field staff, and implementation partners. Strong people management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience in project budgeting, financial tracking, and expenditure monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential with regional languages.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving skills and adaptability.
