Parisar is seeking a Senior Program Lead to lead a multi-year initiative focused on reducing plastic use by strengthening reuse systems and frameworks in Maharashtra. The role requires strong program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work at the intersection of research, practice, and public institutions.
This is a senior position suited to candidates with experience in environmental programs, governance processes, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership and coordination for a state-level program on plastic reduction and reuse
• Guide research, documentation, and synthesis of evidence related to plastics, reuse systems, and existing legal and regulatory frameworks
• Coordinate with civil society organisations, networks, experts, and practitioner groups to facilitate dialogue and knowledge exchange
• Lead the development of structured frameworks, concept notes, and technical recommendations based on research and consultations
• Engage constructively with public institutions, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders through meetings, consultations, and formal processes
• Support dissemination of program outputs through publications, workshops, and media engagement
• Ensure timely delivery of outputs, reporting, and internal coordination
Required Experience & Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree in public policy, law, environmental studies, urban planning, development studies, or a related field
• Over 5-8 years of professional experience, with significant experience in senior program or leadership roles
• Demonstrated experience working on environmental, sustainability, waste, or governance-related issues
• Proven ability to manage complex programs involving multiple stakeholders
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
Desirable:
• Prior work on plastics, waste management, public health, or environmental governance
• Experience engaging with state-level institutions or regulatory bodies
• Experience working with coalitions or networks
• Familiarity with Maharashtra's institutional context
Compensation:
Approximately Rs 9 LPA, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
