• Overall supervision of day-to-day lab procedures according to the protocol in work areas.
• Writing and Updating of the Lab SOP’s with required amendments.
• Administrative responsibility for preparation of budgets for all study labs.
• Ensuring of quality of test performance in all areas of the lab including reference testing.
• Monitoring of incidence reporting including, TAT, complaints, missed samples or testing, etc.
• Resolution of any difficulties related to any lab procedures, specimen transport, and specimen storage and obtaining results.
• Ensuring resolution of lab related queries from other CTU departments.
• Ensuring regular lab supplies.
• Ensuring maintenance and calibration schedules for all instruments/equipment are maintained.
• Ensuring GCLP and biosafety precautions for each lab activity.
• Ensuring waste disposal as per guidelines written in the Lab Safety Manual.
• Quality control reviews for specimen storage, tracking and logs or reports. QC of all software entries
• Regular quality control review for all lab testing.
• Quality control review for all lab documentation.
• Monitoring and review of EQA performance for all EQA programs.
• Ensures proper training and competency for all Mycobacteriology laboratory staff including GCLP, bio-safety, etc.
• Resolution of all lab related problems including off working hours.
• Communication with lab staff through regular meetings for updating them with lab related issues.
• Communication with all required entities or individuals related to network, study or sponsor of Mycobacteriology protocols.
