Over the past 25 years, KKF has evolved into a centre of excellence in capacity building, closely engaging with government institutions, civil society organisations, German partners and Indian private sector. We are located in a serene campus housed in the Karl Kubel Institute for Development Education (KKID) in Mangarai, Coimbatore.
 
Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Project -Manager to lead our upcoming project on empowering civil society partner organizations through the establishment of institutional quality standards and the promotion of financial sustainability and technical-professional capacities. As a deliverable under the project, the incumbent would establish and manage the learning and networking platform, coordinate capacity-building activities, build partnerships, and ensure achievement of project outcomes. We are looking for a team player with established leadership skills responsible for designing, managing, and sustaining this capacity building initiative across thematic areas in South India. The position requires expertise in mentoring and coaching NGOs, managing small teams, assessing and managing risks, engaging with multiple stakeholders, innovating and implementing good practices. The role ensures quality project implementation, while supporting KKF’s learning and development, donor engagement and partnerships.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, implementation, monitoring and documenting/ reporting the project in line with approved standards and guidelines; and funder commitments.
  • Manage the complete project cycle within project timelines and budgets by overseeing CSO assessments and needs analysis and designing, coordinating workshops on ‘Sustainable financing and business models’, ‘Digital skills and AI’ and ‘Organizational development and policies’
  • Facilitate engagement of 40+ CSOs and other ecosystem actors and support formation and functioning of thematic and state-level sub-networks.
  • Develop, operationalize and manage the Learning, Exchange and Networking Platform by coordinating with project stakeholders, donors, consultants, trainers, and participating CSOs.
  • Develop monitoring, documentation and donor reporting frameworks, track project indicators and outcomes. Prepare narrative reports, success stories, case studies, and donor communications
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of workshops, conferences, assessments, and networking activities. Ensure high-quality learning outcomes and follow-up support to participating CSOs.
  • Support audits, evaluations, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with KKID teams to generate and document knowledge and ensure project success
  • Develop and manage relationships with project partners and stakeholders- NGOs, CSR foundations, universities, government agencies, and donor organizations
  • Facilitate conferences, dialogue forums, and collaborative initiatives as per the project requirement
  • Support project team’s performance management, encourage collaboration, accountability, and alignment with KKF’s values and culture
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 10–15 years' experience in multi-sector project management within NGO capacity building, leadership development, organizational development, or institutional strengthening.
  • Demonstrated experience in international project management, fundraising, reporting, and partnership development.
  • Open to all disciplines: Individuals with knowledge, experience, passion for organizational development, capability enhancement, and technology are preferred.
  • Good understanding of NGO governance and compliance, organizational systems, strategic planning, innovation and use of digital tools for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to convene and facilitate diverse stakeholders including, CSR initiatives, academic institutions, networks, and government actors.
  • Strong experience in managing multi-thematic; multi-location; multi-linguistic projects, especially in South India
  • Experience with digital tools to conduct training, workshops, host thematic webinars, project-linked programmes, international collaboration preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-year donor-funded projects, MEAL frameworks and results-based management approaches.
  • Strong written and oral communication in English and working knowledge of at least one South Indian language
  • Experience in facilitating, conducting, hosting seminars, workshops and discussions.
