* Position Summary
As Lead Educator & Program Builder (Primary Level), you will design, lead, and sustain
Umang’s Primary School Program (Grades K–2).

You will work closely with teachers, children, families, and the leadership team to strengthen
learning experiences and build systems that support long-term program quality.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys building educational programs,curriculum
development, teacher growth, program quality, teachers growth, and working closely with
communities.You’ll ensure that classrooms are vibrant, inclusive, and democratic — spaces
where children learn through real-life experiences, art, nature, and reflection.

* Reports to: Mukesh, Director – Umang Democratic School
* Leads: Primary Teachers (Grades K–2) & Early Years Assistants
* Collaborates with:
* Academic & Assessment Teams
* Community Engagement Team
* Operations & Admin Team
* Inclusion & Child Well-being Team

Together, these teams create a nurturing ecosystem where children, teachers, and families
learn with and from each other.
* Key Responsibilities
* Program Excellence
* Design experiential curriculum aligned with NCERT/NCF & Umang’s pedagogy.
* Create interdisciplinary unit plans connecting learning to real-life contexts.

* Integrate SEL, arts, and nature-based learning into daily routines.
* Strengthen assessment practices and learning documentation.
* Integrate arts, play, nature, and social-emotional learning into the program.

* Instructional Leadership
* Mentor teachers in lesson design, facilitation, coaching.and assessment.
* Lead cycles of observation, feedback, and reflective practice.
* Strengthen inclusive practices for diverse learners.
* Facilitate professional learning and reflective practice.

* School & Community Leadership
* Build systems for smooth curriculum delivery & school operations.
* Foster a collaborative, democratic culture.
* Engage parents and local communities as partners in learning.

* Who We’re Looking For
* Qualification: M.A. in Education, APU/Teach For India alumnus, or equivalent.
* Experience: 4–5 years in teaching, curriculum design, or academic leadership
(preferably in progressive/alternative schools).

* Strong grounding in Early Childhood Education, child development & experiential
pedagogy.
* Excellent curriculum design & teacher coaching skills.
* Proficiency in English & Hindi.
* Deep commitment to democratic, inclusive and enjoy working in rural contexts and
learning alongside communities.
