About UTMTS:
Under The Mango Tree Society (UTMTS) is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation that offers beekeeping with indigenous bees to small farmers for enhancing their agriculture through improved pollination. Since pollination is key to any type of fruit production, presence of beeboxes in a smallholder’s farm, improves the crop yield significantly. The vision of the organisation is to provide beekeeping as an agriculture input to small and marginal farmers to increase their yields and income; create livelihood opportunities along the beekeeping value chain; and protect and enhance the local population of indigenous honey bees by increasing awareness of their role in the preservation of the ecosystem and encouraging bee-friendly agriculture practices. The programme began as a pilot in 2009 and is now recognised internationally as an innovative development initiative. The organisation works in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and M.P. Role Responsibilities:
Ensuring regular collection of key agricultural data, and analysis of the same. Helping the team in planning and conducting baseline and endline surveys, followed by data-cleaning, data analysis and report writing. Compiling and analysing the MIS data that comes from the state teams. Helping the team in developing questionnaires and formats. Participating in the development of technology for better monitoring and evaluation of the programme. Developing M&E related presentations showcasing impact of the programme.
Educational Qualification:
Graduate / post-graduate degree preferably in the development field, Social Sciences, Data Science, Statistics, Agriculture or any related area.
Preferred Previous Experience:
Freshers or 1 to 2 years of work experience in the development sector handling surveys, data cleaning and data analysis.
Functional Skills:
Proficiency in Intermediate or Advanced level of MS Excel. Basic proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint. Good analytical skills with an eye to detail. Good presentation and report-writing skills. Ability to read, write and speak English and Hindi is a must; working knowledge of Marathi or Gujarati will be useful. Other Key Requirements: Should be willing to travel to the field at least for 10 days a month. Should be a team-player and a keen learner.
