In places where health remains out of reach, held back by stigma, silence or systemic gaps, we have worked to change that reality. Government Partnerships & Engagement Lead

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Qualification, Skills & Competencies
• Minimum 10 years of experience working with or within Government departments in Maharashtra, with demonstrated engagement with BMC or comparable Municipal Corporations strongly preferred. Experience with the National Health Mission, Directorate of Health Services, Urban Development, Disaster Management, or climate-related programmes will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Maharashtra's government systems, institutional processes, and decision-making mechanisms.
• Demonstrated experience in government partnership management, stakeholder engagement, and multi-sectoral coordination.
• Prior working relationships with BMC's Health Department, Disaster Management Department, or comparable municipal agencies are highly desirable. Familiarity with BMC's approval processes and data governance mechanisms will be a distinct advantage.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating government approvals, data access arrangements, data-sharing agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), or other institutional agreements.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills, with fluency in English and Marathi (Hindi desirable).
Roles and Responsibilities
Government & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as KHPT's primary focal point for engagement with BMC and relevant Government of Maharashtra departments.
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with government officials and institutional stakeholders, fostering trust, collaboration, and shared ownership of the initiative.
• Facilitate government approvals, data access arrangements, data-sharing agreements, institutional agreements, permissions, and other administrative processes required for timely project implementation.
• Coordinate engagement across relevant departments, including Public Health, Disaster Management, Environment, Urban Development, and Municipal Administration.
• Anticipate institutional bottlenecks and proactively facilitate timely solutions to ensure project milestones remain on track.
Project Support
• Provide strategic inputs on government partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and institutional processes.
• Monitor stakeholder dynamics, identify implementation risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support high-level meetings, technical consultations, field visits, and project events.
• Report to the Project Lead/Consultant Lead on a day-to-day basis.
• Support the timely delivery of project milestones and contractual deliverables.

The Government Partnerships & Engagement Lead will be reporting to the Lead – Urban Health, KHPT.

The compensation for the above-mentioned position/s will adhere to internal policies and market standards, determined by qualifications, relevant experience, budget availability, internal parity, and interview performance
