Community Social Worker-Volunteer

Key Responsibilities & Responsibilities:
• Vulnerability Mapping: Identify at-risk families, out-of-school girls, and households facing extreme poverty within assigned villages.
• Village Survey: undertake the village level survey in assigned villages and identify families vulnerable to Child Trafficking and Child Marriages and maintain a record of it.
• Activation and formation of CWPC/VLCPC: Work and coordinate with KLM district team to activate already existing and create new committees in villages.
• Immediate Reporting: Monitor and serve as the first responder to report any or impending child marriages to district coordinator or any senior in the assigned intervention village/s.
• Family Counselling: Conduct regular home visits to counsel parents on the health dangers and legal consequences of early marriage.
• Reintegration Support: Help rescued girls return to formal schooling or access vocational training.
• Follow-up Monitoring: Conduct routine checks on vulnerable girls to ensure they remain safe and enrolled in school. If there is an any school dropout or non-regularity to school immediately report to seniors or district coordinator in the assigned intervention village/s.
• Public Campaigns: Lead local awareness activities like street play, community rallies, and school workshops during wedding seasons.
• Vendor Sensitization: Meet with local religious leaders, marriage priest/pandits etc, tent owners, and caterers to pledge not to support child marriages.
• School Partnerships: Work with local teachers and principals to track student absenteeism and non-regularity.
• Frontline Worker Alliance: Collaborate and meeting with Panchayat, schools to carry out the work in village and with village-level healthcare workers (like ASHA or Anganwadi workers) to track adolescent health data.

Reporting & Documentation

• Filling Undertaking Forms: Identify the vulnerable families who have minor children and undertake the undertaking by the parents/guardian on Child Marriage prevention.
• Field Logs: Maintain daily registers detailing community meetings, home visits, and individual case progress.
• Maintain the list of school dropout / non regularity to the school children and ensure to link with various skills/schemes and with school.
• Linking if vulnerable families and individuals with various government social welfare schemes.
• Display and pasting of the no child marriages notice boards in religious places
• Pledges with various religious/ faith leaders, priests on child marriage.
• Identify and details of children have been exploited by online/cyber medium.
• Follow up previous cases: Regular Follow-ups of the child marriage stopped cases previously.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 12th Standard schooling from CBSE board
• Knowledge of field and strong communication skill with people/community and Child Protection Government stakeholders
• Experience of working with the NGO’s especially in the field of child protection
• Brief/ basic knowledge of POCSO Act, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, JJ Act and Child Labour Act.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the villages
• Basic knowledge of computer, data entry and Internet
• Basic knowledge of English writing for report making etc.
