About the Role

As an Instruction Specialist, you will facilitate Pi Labs at partner government and affordable private schools and contribute to creating a high-quality computer science education ecosystem for students. The role involves classroom teaching, lesson planning, monitoring student learning, coordination with schools and participation in educational events.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery

Deliver Pi Jam's curriculum effectively across assigned grades and schools.
Teach in classrooms across the assigned city/district and travel as required.
Create monthly grade-specific goals and daily lesson plans with the Program Manager.
File reports after each class.
Track attendance and assess student learning through assessments, projects and quizzes.
Coordinate with school authorities to ensure adequate instructional time and maintenance of the lab.

Training & Development

Participate in professional development, workshops, seminars and training programmes.
Participate in monthly learning circles and share teaching best practices.
Work with the Program Manager to build teaching capacity based on feedback.

Events & Student Engagement

Coordinate with schools and conduct annual student showcases.
Mentor selected students for the annual Pi Jam event.
Conduct hackathons, quizzes and field visits.
Support Pi Jam's program and event activities.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Good relationship-management and stakeholder-management skills.
Willingness to learn and stay updated on computer science education.
Willingness to travel extensively across assigned districts.

Preferred Qualifications
Degree in STEM or Education, or demonstrable experience in STEM/Computer Science.
At least 1 year of teaching experience and experience working with children in a formal or informal setting.
Knowledge of education and program evaluation methods.
Ability to speak the local language.
