PALCARE - THE JIMMY S BILIMORIA FOUNDATION – is looking for GNM nurses for its home-based palliative care service in Greater Mumbai. PALCARE looks after patients with serious, life-limiting conditions, particularly cancer patients, to relieve their pain and manage their symptoms, ensuring that they have quality of life and die in dignity.

Job Description:
You will be a member of a medical palliative care team comprising one doctor, two nurses and one psycho-social counsellor. You will visit patients at their homes. There, you will provide compassionate and expert nursing care, under the guidance of the team doctor, so as to relieve their pain and manage their symptoms, ensuring that they have quality of life and die in dignity. You will be assigned a zone close to your home to minimize travel time to patients. This is a 9:30 am to 5:30 p.m. job – leaving your evenings free.

Remuneration:
Your salary will be generous and commensurate with your years of experience. The position is in Mumbai. Accommodation is not provided and applicants must make their own arrangements.

Qualifications:
A GNM (General Nurse Midwifery) diploma or BSc degree in Nursing, from a recognized institution in India with at least 2 years’ experience preferably in a hospital.

Experience:
Two or more years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital. We are however willing to consider freshers who demonstrate initiative and will train them to make them one of the finest in the country.

Personal characteristics:
• High-quality nursing skills
• Compassion and personalised care to patients and their families
• Effective communication skills, preferably in English/ Hindi / Marathi.
• Dedication to the job and hard working
• Prepared to undergo specialised training and regular refresher courses thereon.
• Should be willing to make a commitment to the organization for a minimum of 2 years.
