1. Introduction
The People’s Rural Education Movement (PREM) is a secular, humanitarian, non-political and non-governmental organization based in Madiapali, Ganjam, Odisha. PREM in partnership with UNFPA supports strengthening the Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) and Rollout of Newer Contraceptives in Family Planning in the selected geographies of Odisha with the objective of expanding access to a range of voluntary, informed and quality-assured contraceptive choices.
The Family Planning Programme emphasizes a target-free approach, voluntary adoption of family planning methods, services based on the felt needs of clients, quality assurance and expansion of contraceptive choices.
As part of the introduction of newer contraceptive choices, subdermal contraceptive implants and Subcutaneous being introduced in facilities of selected districts. The subdermal implant service is being implemented in Medical Colleges and District Headquarters Hospitals in Ganjam, Kataka, Khordha and Sundargarh districts where as the Subcutaneous MPA is being rolled out in the districts of Gajapati, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh and Mayurbhanj.
The initiative provides an opportunity to document the experience of service providers, programme managers and, most importantly, real beneficiaries/clients who have voluntarily accessed the implant service. Such documentation will help capture the human story behind the programme, demonstrate good practices, understand the service delivery process, identify innovations and lessons learned, and provide replicable examples for strengthening and scaling up the service.
The proposed documentation will therefore focus on producing Five short, high-quality documentary-style videos (In odia with sub-titles in English), each of approximately 2–3 minutes duration, covering real-life beneficiary and service-provider experiences from Kataka, Ganjam, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj districts.
The videos should go beyond conventional promotional content and should present authentic, evidence-based and human-centred stories, while maintaining the dignity, privacy, confidentiality and informed consent of all participants.
2. Objective:
The purpose of this assignment is to engage an experienced professional agency/production house to conceptualize, research, script, shoot, edit and produce five high-quality short documentary/case-study videos, each of approximately 2–3 minutes, showcasing:
- Real-life stories and experiences of beneficiaries/clients who have voluntarily opted for the contraceptive implant.
- Experiences of trained service providers delivering implant services.
- The counselling and decision-making process preceding service uptake.
- The service delivery pathway and client experience.
- Good practices and innovations adopted by health facilities and providers.
- The role of health system personnel in generating awareness, counselling, referral and follow-up.
- Key learnings that can potentially be replicated in other facilities/districts.
- The overall journey from awareness and counselling to service provision and follow-up.
