Chetanalaya, the social action wing of the Archdiocese of Delhi, has been working for the holistic development and empowerment of marginalized communities for more than five decades. Its programmes focus on children, youth, women, migrants, persons with disabilities, elderly persons and other vulnerable communities in Delhi.

Position Summary
Chetanalaya is looking for a Monitoring Officer to coordinate the project’s monitoring, data management, documentation and learning processes. The Officer will work closely with the Programme Manager and project team to track activities, outputs and outcomes, verify field-level data, document changes and generate evidence for reporting and programme improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the project monitoring plan, indicators and monitoring tools.
• Maintain updated databases and systematic records of project activities, beneficiaries and indicators.
• Collect, compile and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from project areas
• Conduct regular field visits and data verification to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Track progress against project targets and outcomes related to child and youth participation, leadership, education, child protection, community ownership and sustainability.
• Facilitate participatory monitoring with children, youth leaders, community representatives and project staff.
• Document success stories, case studies, good practices, testimonies and lessons learned.
• Monitor and document Time Banking activities, youth-led initiatives and their outcomes.
• Support monitoring of child protection activities, referrals and follow-up, while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
• Prepare periodic monitoring updates, half-yearly monitoring reports and annual outcome reports.
• Provide data and evidence for donor reports, proposals, presentations and organizational reporting.
• Facilitate review and reflection meetings and support the project team in using monitoring findings for programme improvement.
• Ensure timely and quality documentation of project achievements, challenges and emerging trends.

Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Public Policy or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, research, documentation or programme management, preferably in the development sector.
• Experience in data collection, analysis, monitoring tools, databases and report preparation.
• Experience working with child, youth, education or community development programmes will be an advantage.
• Experience in participatory monitoring and documentation of case studies/success stories is desirable.

Required Skills
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation and outcome-based monitoring.
• Ability to develop practical monitoring tools and analyse quantitative and qualitative data.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with digital data collection tools is an advantage.
• Good communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work with children, youth and community members in a respectful and participatory manner.
• Willingness to undertake regular field visits in Delhi.
• Commitment to child rights, safeguarding, inclusion and work with marginalized communities.
