SOS Children’s Villages of India are an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization working for the holistic development of parentless children as well as women and children from vulnerable families. For over 60 years, we have reached over 65000 children through our 32 SOS Children’s Villages and 28 community projects in India positively impacting over 83000 lives. Purpose and Objective:
To provide strategic leadership to the Talent Acquisition function, ensuring the organisation has the right talent, in the right roles, at the right time. The role will drive end-to-end talent acquisition, strengthen talent pipelines and sourcing strategies, build a strong employer brand, and partner with business leaders to meet current and future workforce requirements while ensuring alignment with organisation values and culture.
The ideal candidate should understand the unique hiring challenges in the social sector and be capable of building a mission-aligned workforce.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Talent Acquisition :
• Develop, review, and update job descriptions aligned with business requirements and organizational structure.
o Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for leadership, mid-level, and field positions across PAN India.
o Manage sourcing through campus recruitment, job portals, employee referrals, social media platforms, headhunting firms, universities and other sourcing channels.
o Handle bulk hiring requirements while ensuring quality of hires and adherence to timelines. Ability to manage multiple hiring mandates simultaneously
o Ensure timely closures while maintaining quality of hires.
2. Talent Pipeline & Workforce Planning :
o Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements and hiring priorities.
o Identify and establish alternative sourcing channels to strengthen recruitment efforts.
o Build and maintain a talent pool/bench strength for critical, recurring and future positions.
3. HR Operations Support :
• Support onboarding and induction programs for new hires.
• Maintain recruitment MIS, dashboards, and hiring analytics.
o Ensure recruitment processes comply with organizational policies and diversity & inclusion standards.
o Assist in HR policy implementation and employee engagement initiatives when required.
4. Employer Branding & External Certifications:
o Lead organizational participation in employer-branding initiatives and certifications such as Great Place to Work (GPTW).
o Coordinate surveys, audits, documentation, and improvement initiatives required for certification.
o Conduct market and industry benchmarking studies related to HR practices, compensation, benefits, talent management, and employee engagement.
o Recommend best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.
5. Pre-employment checks and Documentation :
o Ensure completion of pre-employment tests for eligibility of candidates
o Background checks and reference checks
o Recruitment documentation including application form, interview assessment sheets and approvals
o Joining documentation including joining formats, certificates, email id and personal
file
Child and Youth Safeguarding Commitment:
The incumbent must commit to the organization's Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and ensure its implementation in all aspects and activities.
Qualifications and Skills :
• PG-HR with 10-12 years of experience and at least 5 years with the development sector at a senior level.
• Strong experience in managing Talent Acquisition.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Experience of working on HR software and HR Analytics, excellent at MS Office suites
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• High level of empathy, integrity, and people orientation.
• Excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to work independently, take ownership of hiring mandates, and drive recruitment initiatives with minimal supervision
• Willing to occasionally travel PAN India to our program locations and campuses as per requirement
• Strong networking and sourcing capabilities
