Purpose: Plan India is implementing “Young Health Programme” since 2010, which is a global programme funded by Astra Zeneca to address the WHO 5X5 matrix i.e. NCD risk behaviors, SRHR, Emotional well-being and Outdoor air pollution. The YHP focus on young people’s (10-24 yrs.) health, who are living in unauthorized colony of Mumbai.
The project “Young Health Programme” will work with on ground team to achieve the following objectives:
• To empower young people through building knowledge and capacity on NCD prevention, enabling them to take informed decisions about their health, using peer education and community outreach.
• To increase awareness and knowledge of parents’ teachers and community leaders on NCD prevention, to create a supportive and enabling environment for young people.
• To strengthen health services in the targeted area for providing access to quality youth friendly SRHR and NCD services.
• To advocate with state govt. for strengthening institutional systems and policy environment that supports NCD prevention and promotes the holistic health of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
The Health Information Centre Facilitator (HICF), will be responsible to support Health Information Centre (HIC) in the functioning, implementing project activities and conducting training of young people and stakeholders on Non-communicable diseases (NCD) prevention.
1. Support line manager in implementation of project annual action plan to accelerate the project outcomes as envisaged under the YHP.
2. Conduct training on YHP topics of identified young peoples and other stakeholders.
3. Collect data and analysis fortnightly progress of project and prepare monthly report.
4. Network and liaise with government and non- government stakeholder for fulfilment of project’s overall goal and contribute to enhancement of project visibility in the external environment.
5. Work in close coordination with line manager and other stakeholders for implementing project activities.
6. Programmatic communication with Line manager to present project activities status update.
7. Other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Professional Experience
1. Graduate in Social science at least two years’ professional experience in working on Adolescent sexual and reproductive health projects
2. Understanding and experience of planning and managing non-communicable diseases prevention programs
3. Understanding of government structures, and processes preferably National health mission.
4. Capacity building/training and project monitoring skills
5. Fluency in Hindi & Marathi with ability to read, write and speak.
