TENDER NOTICE
1.Background:
Murdaha and Sulemepur areas under the Harhua Varanasi intervention face challenges related to long-term watersource sustainability. The groundwater level in the area is approximately 170–180 feet below ground level, making dependence on groundwater increasingly challenging and highlighting the need for local water conservation and recharge measures.
In this context, village ponds can play an important role in retaining rainwater, supporting groundwater recharge and improving local water security. However, ponds may lose their effectiveness due to siltation, poor rainwater inflow, wastewater entry, solid-waste dumping and inadequate maintenance.
Therefore, the project proposes to focus on pond source sustainability around 12 direct households in Murdaha and 19 direct households in Sulemepur, covering a total of 31 direct households. The intervention will focus on improving the pond's capacity to retain rainwater, strengthening recharge potential, preventing pollution and building community ownership for its long-term protection and maintenance.
The initiative will demonstrate a simple, locally appropriate and community-led approach to “Pond as a Sustainable Water Source”, which can subsequently be replicated in neighbouring households and villages under the Harhua.

2. Terms and Conditions:

- The Proposal must be on the company letter head with date, signature and company seal. (It is to be signed by the authorized person).
- Subject - Quotation Source Sustainability, Varanasi, without subject quotation will not be considered for further process.
- Proposals must be submitted to Procurement Email ID: WAIProcurementUP@wateraid.org Any proposal submitted to any other email id will not be considered.
- The Proposal to be submitted as two separate attachments (if you have already submitted before we will consider do not need to submit again)
- Technical proposal as per the BOQ
- Financial proposal in non-editable PDF Format.
- The proposal must have the subject mentioning the village name given in the table below of point 12.
- The proposal must be submitted as a separate attachment. Kindly recommend the BOQ given.
- Proposals received after due date will not be considered.
- Financial proposals must be submitted inclusive of applicable taxes and mentioning the validity of the quoted rate.
- All terms and conditions must be clearly mentioned in the proposals.
- Incomplete proposals shall not be considered.
- The work shall be completed on or before 30th October 2026
- Payment shall be released based on the actual work completed and verified.
