About Unmukt Foundation
Unmukt Foundation began in 2017 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with a simple belief — that no child should be limited by the circumstances they are born into.
We work with children from underserved communities through in-school, after-school, and community-based programs using art, sports, reading, and environmental action as tools of transformation. Till date we have worked with 3800+ children and 2000+ youth … Khelo India
Through our PEACE model (Physical, Emotional, Academic, Creative, and Environmental development), we create safe and joyful learning spaces where children can learn freely, express fearlessly, and grow joyfully.

At Unmukt, we don’t just teach.
We listen. We nurture. We walk with every child as they discover their strength, voice, and dreams.

If you believe education can be an act of love and transformation — you’ll belong here.

Vision
Every child is seen, safe, and served with quality education.

Mission
Unmukt finds, develops, and supports youth to become inspiring role models who lead with love, transform education at all levels, and live in harmony with the Earth.

Freedom Fellow
(Lead Where it Matters)
I want to learn more.
I want to learn in the real world.
A place where mistakes are welcome.
A place where my work contributes to something larger than myself.
If the above lines resonate with you. This is your opportunity to contribute to the educational equity movement of Odisha which is about to begin.
You will work closely with children, parents, teachers, volunteers, and community members to bring alive Unmukt’s vision of holistic, meaningful education. Fellows are expected to lead with empathy, curiosity, and courage — and to grow deeply, both personally and professionally, through the process.
This role is for someone who believes that children flourish when adults learn alongside them, and that education can transform not just classrooms, but lives, communities, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
In Schools :
Facilitate daily joyful classroom sessions in FLN and Odia, using Unmukt’s PEACE pedagogy (Physical,Emotional, Academic, Creative, and Environmental development).
Design and adapt lesson plans for every class, rooted in children’s contexts.
Conduct periodic assessments and celebrate student progress and milestones.
Build nurturing, inclusive, and emotionally safe classrooms.
Strengthen partnerships with schools and ensure smooth implementation of Unmukt programs.
After-School Learning:
Engage with children after school to bridge learning gaps and support holistic development.
Identify, train, and mentor community volunteers for after-school sessions.
Track volunteer engagement and support their growth as facilitators.
Parents - Build warm, respectful, and trusting relationships with parents.
Organize and document monthly parent meetings.
Conduct weekly home visits, where needed, to better understand children’s contexts.

Community - Build strong bond and understanding of community
Lead small community action projects with children and youth.
Organize periodic community events.
Encourage care for nature and the environment as part of everyday learning.

Commitment for self-growth - Being a Fellow means committing to your own learning as deeply as you commit to children’s learning. Change begins from you, once you are growing in leadership and all areas of your life then it will be reflected in children, classroom, and in the society.
Actively participate in all training, reflection spaces, and learning sessions.
Live Unmukt’s values of the 4Cs — Care, Courage, Curiosity, and Creativity.
Seek and offer feedback with openness and humility.
Build discipline, self-awareness, and ownership in everyday practice.
Stay deeply rooted in Odisha’s people, culture, languages, and community wisdom.

What It’s Like to Work at Unmukt
Unmukt is nothing like a typical office. Our walls are covered with children’s drawings, and many of us prefer working on the floor (though we do have chairs and tables!). Here, children have an equal voice, and everyone is treated as a co-learner, not just a colleague or student.
We’re a growing team—fun, creative, and sometimes challenged—but always learning together. You’ll engage with diverse communities and stakeholders, so cultural and climate sensitivity and adaptability are essential.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
Commitment of full time and on-site for 2 years.
Willingness to travel within Bhubaneswar for school and community sessions.
Leads with Choose (responsibility, and integrity), Co-create, Co-excel, and Co-exist.
Believes in children’s potential and their own capacity to grow.
Reflects deeply and learns continuously.
Builds strong relationships with children, families, teachers, and communities.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate in any field by April 2026 (Education, Psychology, Sociology, Arts, or related preferred).
0–2 years of experience in teaching or facilitation.
Strong English and Odia communication skills — speaking, reading, and writing.
Comfortable with basic digital tools for teaching and reporting.
Nice to Have (but not mandatory!)
Experience in art-based learning and Interest in sports, theatre, or visual arts as learning tools.
Skills in facilitation, storytelling, or creative writing.
If This Feels Like You…
We’d love to hear your story. Tell us what draws you to work with children, what freedom means to you, and how you’d like to grow with Unmukt. https://forms.gle/YBA3DM9A5LU4mnLq5

This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to challenge the status quo, to build joyful and quality learning communities, and to watch both children and yourself blossom in the process. Are you ready?
