Position Summary
The Community Mobiliser will be responsible for bringing about behaviour change among vendors
at KR Market and ensuring effective implementation of G-Star Waste Management practices on the
ground.
The Community Mobiliser acts as the bridge between vendors, PKs, Marshalls, and the Project
Team to ensure smooth implementation and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular awareness sessions and one-on-one engagement with vendors to promote
waste segregation and maintain a daily checklist to track compliance and behavioural
improvements.
2. Train and monitor Pourakarmikas (PKs) to ensure proper waste collection, segregation
practices, attendance, and accountability in their assigned areas.
3. Coordinate with Marshalls by following up on enforcement-related issues, collecting their
reports, and escalating recurring challenges to the Project Coordinator.
4. Plan and execute volunteer engagement activities, document field observations and challenges,
and submit regular reports to support project monitoring and donor reporting.
Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain daily tracking sheets.
• Submit weekly summary reports to the Project Coordinator.
• Provide data inputs for donor reporting.
• Document success stories and challenges.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in Kannada, Hindi and English
• Ability to handle conflict diplomatically
• Field-oriented and proactive personality
• Data recording and reporting skills
• Ability to motivate informal sector workers
• High patience and persistence
Educational Qualification
• MSW / Any Graduate (Social Work preferred)
• Experience in community mobilisation, waste management, or urban development preferred
