Gyan Seva Bharti Sansthan (GSBS) is a non-profit, voluntary development organization working since last 31 Years in Supaul and Darbhanga districts of Bihar for the socio-economic empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable communities. The organization is committed to promoting inclusive development through community-based interventions that improve access to education, health services, sustainable livelihoods, women empowerment, and social protection.
Since its inception, GSBS has been actively working in rural and underserved areas, which are highly flood affected to address issues affecting women, children, and disadvantaged households. The organization implements community-driven programs focusing on women empowerment, digital and financial literacy, child protection, health and nutrition, disaster resilience, and livelihood promotion. Through participatory approaches, GSBS mobilizes communities, strengthens local institutions, and builds the capacity of women and youth to become agents of positive change in their villages.
GSBS works closely with government departments, local self-governments, civil society organizations, and development partners to ensure effective implementation of development initiatives. The organization also promotes awareness and access to government welfare schemes, financial services, and digital technologies to enhance social inclusion and economic opportunities for rural populations.

Roles and Responsibilities of Supervisors

Project: Empowering Rural Women through Digital Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion in Bihar
The Supervisor will support the effective implementation of the project at the field level by guiding community facilitators, ensuring quality training delivery, and strengthening financial and digital literacy among rural women. The Supervisor will act as a link between the Project Coordinator and field teams, ensuring smooth execution of project activities in the assigned villages or blocks.
1. Field Supervision and Coordination
• Ensure timely opening of digital financial literacy centre and presence of women with full capacity.
• Monitor day-to-day field activities and provide necessary technical and operational support to field staff.
2. Community Mobilization
• Support the mobilization of rural women, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and community members to participate in training and awareness programs.
• Facilitate community meetings to promote financial literacy, savings habits, and digital financial practices.
• Encourage participation of marginalized and economically disadvantaged women in the program.
3. Training Support
• Assist in organizing training sessions on digital financial literacy, including digital payments, banking services, and financial management.
• Demonstrate the use of digital tools such as ATM cards, mobile banking, and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for transactions.
• Support trainers in delivering sessions in a simple and practical manner suitable for rural women.
• To ensure the participation of women outside state or distance location training program organized under the project.
4. Financial Inclusion and Entitlement Support
• Facilitate linkages of women with banks and financial institutions for opening and using accounts under schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
• Support women in accessing government welfare schemes and social security benefits.
• Assist beneficiaries in understanding documentation requirements and application processes.
5. Monitoring and Quality Assurance
• Conduct regular field visits to the digital and financial literacy centre and community meetings to ensure quality implementation.
• Track attendance, participation, and learning progress of women attending the sessions at the digital finance literacy centre.
• Identify challenges faced by field staff and beneficiaries and provide solutions or escalate issues to the Project Coordinator.
6. Data Collection and Documentation
• Maintain records of training sessions, participant lists, and project activities.
• Collect and compile data related to financial literacy training, digital transactions, and entitlement linkages.
• Support preparation of field reports, case studies, and success stories.
7. Reporting
• Submit regular progress reports to the Project Coordinator on field activities and achievements.
• Share feedback from communities and field teams to improve project strategies.
• Ensure timely submission of monitoring data and documentation.
8. Awareness and Advocacy
• Promote awareness about digital financial services, financial safety, and government financial inclusion initiatives.
• Encourage women to adopt safe digital practices and protect themselves from financial fraud.
