Position Title: Accountant
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Head / Head of Finance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Bangalore
Role Summary
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate, transparent, and timely financial management of
the organization. The role includes reimbursement verification, project-wise accounting, donor fund
tracking, statutory compliance, salary processing, audit coordination, and strict adherence to Finance
and Procurement Policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Accounting
• Verify staff reimbursements against bills and Finance Policy.
• Allocate expenses project-wise and donor-wise based on discussion with Project Manager /
Operations Head / CEO
• Maintain monthly project expenditure and donor utilization statements.
• Enter all transactions accurately in Tally with proper ledger selection and narration.
• Ensure no backlog in monthly accounting updates.
2. Bill Processing & Documentation
• Stamp, number, and record all bills with required references.
• File bills month-wise and project-wise.
• Scan and digitally store documents (project-wise, month-wise, and bank-linked).
• Ensure records are audit-ready and easily retrievable.
3. Donor & Project Financial Tracking
• Prepare monthly expenditure reports.
• Track donor fund utilization and balances.
• Share financial summaries with management as required.
4. Procurement & Policy Compliance
• Ensure procurement processes follow approved policy.
• Verify quotations and completeness of documentation.
• Flag deviations or missing documents immediately.
• Ensure all payments comply with Finance Policy.
5. Salary & Statutory Compliance
• Verify attendance and leave records.
• Calculate gross salary, deductions (TDS, PT, etc.), and net pay.
• Maintain the official Excel Salary Register.
• Prepare salary slips and obtain employee acknowledgment.
• Follow up with Secretary to process salary payments after approval.
• Ensure compliance with TDS, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements.
6. Coordination with CA & Audit Support
• Share Tally data, bills, bank statements, and reports with CA.
• Support monthly reviews, quarterly checks, and annual audits.
• Provide documentation during donor due diligence and audit processes.
• Ensure consistency across Tally, bank statements, salary records, and physical documents.
7. Record Accuracy & Confidentiality
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and transparency.
• Safeguard confidentiality of financial information.
• Immediately report discrepancies or financial risks to management.
Required Skills & Competencies
• 2+ years experience in accounts & finance
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel.
• Attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• Ability to manage donor-funded project accounts.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• 100% updated monthly accounts without backlog.
• Error-free reimbursement verification.
• Timely salary processing and statutory compliance.
• Audit-ready documentation at all times.
• Accurate donor-wise fund tracking and reporting.
Salary: INR 25,000 + pm, based on experience.
