We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor to support survivors of domestic and gender-based violence under the Legal Rights Awareness Programme (LRAP). The Counselor will play a critical role in providing confidential psychosocial support, facilitating access to legal and protection services, and ensuring survivor-centered case management.

Location: Sagar, Madhya Pradesh
Travel Requirements:Travel required to various block locations in Sagar District
Salary:Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Role requirements:
• Provide confidential and ethical counseling support to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.
• Conduct survivor intake, provide empathetic and survivor-centered counseling, and maintain accurate and confidential case documentation
• Educate women about their legal rights, available protection laws, and government support mechanisms.
• Assist survivors in accessing legal aid, police services, healthcare facilities, shelter homes, and other protection services.
• Maintain proper case documentation, records, and reports in line with program guidelines and timelines.
• Prepare activity plans, budgets (if required), and periodic progress reports.
• Coordinate with community stakeholders, service providers, and relevant authorities to ensure holistic survivor support.
• Participate in program meetings and contribute to strengthening counseling services within the LRAP framework.

Eligibility & Personal Attributes:
• Graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with survivors of gender-based violence is strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive cases with empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Capacity to work independently and in coordination with field teams.
• Commitment to gender justice, women’s rights, and organizational values.
• Willingness for continuous professional learning and development.
