Organizational Background
Gyan Seva Bharti Sansthan (GSBS) is a non-profit, voluntary development organization working since last 31 Years in Supaul and Darbhanga districts of Bihar for the socio-economic empowerment of marginalized and vulnerable communities. The organization is committed to promoting inclusive development through community-based interventions that improve access to education, health services, sustainable livelihoods, women empowerment, and social protection.

Since its inception, GSBS has been actively working in rural and underserved areas, which are highly flood affected to address issues affecting women, children, and disadvantaged households. The organization implements community-driven programs focusing on women empowerment, digital and financial literacy, child protection, health and nutrition, disaster resilience, and livelihood promotion. Through participatory approaches, GSBS mobilizes communities, strengthens local institutions, and builds the capacity of women and youth to become agents of positive change in their villages.

GSBS works closely with government departments, local self-governments, civil society organizations, and development partners to ensure effective implementation of development initiatives. The organization also promotes awareness and access to government welfare schemes, financial services, and digital technologies to enhance social inclusion and economic opportunities for rural populations.

With a strong field presence and experienced development professionals, GSBS strives to create sustainable and scalable models that contribute to improved quality of life, gender equality, and community resilience in rural Bihar.

Roles and Responsibilities of Project Coordinator

Number of Post: 01

Salary: Rs. 37,000/- Per Month

Project: Empowering Rural Women through Digital Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion in Bihar

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the effective planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of activities aimed at improving digital financial literacy and financial inclusion among rural women. The coordinator will ensure that project activities are implemented efficiently and achieve the intended outcomes of empowering women to access and utilize digital financial services.

1. Project Planning and Implementation
• Prepare detailed project implementation plans, activity schedules, and timelines in alignment with project objectives.
• Coordinate the rollout of digital financial literacy training programs for rural women, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and community members.
• Ensure the establishment and smooth functioning of digital financial literacy centres.
• Supervise field staff and facilitators to ensure quality implementation of program activities.

2. Community Mobilization and Engagement
• Mobilize rural women, SHG members, and community stakeholders to participate in digital financial literacy initiatives.
• Conduct community meetings, orientation sessions, and awareness campaigns on financial inclusion, digital payments, savings, and responsible borrowing.
• Encourage women to actively use banking services, mobile banking, digital wallets, and government financial schemes.

3. Capacity Building and Training
• Organize/Assist in training programs and workshops on digital financial literacy, including use of ATMs, mobile banking, UPI, online transactions, and digital safety.
• Provide/Assist in training and guidance to community facilitators, volunteers, and field staff.

4. Coordination with Stakeholders
• Liaise with banks, financial institutions, government departments, and local authorities to strengthen financial inclusion initiatives.
• Coordinate with Panchayati Raj Institutions, community-based organizations, and SHG federations for effective project outreach.
• Maintain regular communication with donors and organizational management regarding project progress.

5. Monitoring and Supervision
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor the regular opening of financial literacy centres, presence of women in all classes, community activities, and project progress.
• Track key indicators mentioned in the result frame work to achieve the outcomes of the project.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field teams to address implementation challenges.

6. Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain proper documentation of project activities, attendance records, and training outcomes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the organization and donor agencies.
• Document success stories, case studies, and best practices demonstrating women’s empowerment through financial inclusion.

7. Data Management and Evaluation
• Collect and analyse project data to measure progress and impact.
• Support baseline surveys, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations of the project.
• Ensure timely submission of monitoring data and learning outcomes.

8. Advocacy and Awareness
• Promote awareness about government financial schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, and digital payment systems like Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
• Encourage women to access credit, insurance, and savings schemes to improve their economic resilience.

9. Financial and Administrative Support
• Assist in managing project budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Coordinate logistics for training programs, workshops, and community meetings.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor guidelines.
