1. JOB DESCRIPTION STAFF NURSE
The Staff Nurse will be responsible for delivering preventive, promotive, screening, and referral healthcare services in assigned villages. S/he will support the Medical Officer, conduct health education, and ensure smooth field-level operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Dispense medicines strictly as per the doctor’s prescription.
2. Assist the doctor during consultations, procedures, and health camps.
3. Guide patients on dosage, precautions, and side effects of medicines.
4. Support the doctor in the management of patient records, service statistics and MIS
5. Maintain stock registers, monitor expiry, and ensure proper storage.
6. Prepare and submit medicine indents for timely replenishment.
7. Ensure adherence to drug safety and legal standards.
8. Assist in patient flow management and clinical service delivery.
9. Cross-check prescriptions with issued medicines for accuracy.
10. Support the identification of alternate staff to ensure the continuity of MHV services
11. Develop monthly “at-a-glance” reports on the utilization trends of medicines, medical equipment, and instruments, and support demand forecasting.
12. Complete tasks as instructed by team leaders, as and when required.
13. Mobilize communities and make necessary arrangements for quarterly health camps and special events.
14. Implementation of My Village, Healthy Village activities and health-promoting school activities
15. Track service utilization and ensure follow-up of key cases.
16. Collect and compile testimonials, activity photos, and other required data.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in clinical practice, with knowledge of performing antenatal and postnatal check-ups as per government protocols.
• Prior experience working with NGOs or Mobile Health/Medical Units in rural areas is preferred.
• Strong team player with a passion for community work and demonstrated empathy towards the community.
• Good communication skills in Hindi.
• Ability to work effectively within time limits and under pressure.
